Fluxbox 1.3.7

Postby Nili » 2019-08-25 10:26

Hello! Any particular reason why Fluxbox 1.3.7 didn't make to the current Debian version?

Latest Fluxbox have been released around 2015 aparently this version is stuck on Experimental for quite long time. Not sure why is still on experimental, also how long will stay there? I think Debian 10 must approched on current release.

I have no problem getting the latest version, I just wanted to know what happened to this package on Debian repo. Anyone have more clue?

Regards!
OS: FreeBSD // CWM & Devuan // Fluxbox (lean & mean).
I only play 96kHz Hi-Res audio WAV or FLAC via DAC player.

You can contact the maintainer if you have any questions. As to why there's no latest version, I don't know. Maybe there's a lack of interest?
Lot's of people use i3wm and openbox. Fluxbox doesn't get much love.

Contacting the maintainers seems like a good idea, I can see there are two in charge, perhaps one of them can review it and move it to stable.
About i3 yeah, I know it's very populated ones notably r/unixporn, but when it comes to stacks Openbox/Fluxbox for some matters.

Fluxbox doesn't have Openbox fame, as i get the impression it's not recognized enough (at least in today's generation) or because tile looks more interesting on too many, While Openbox have a lot of distro supports which comes installed on a few popular distros.

While in my position both stacks are an integral part of my system.

Thanks for your suggestion Wheelerof4te

Hello, Nili! I think you should fill bug report to maintainer of fluxbox package. Also, you can do it by using the reportbug program.

Hello None1975! Sorry for the delay, but have been too much busy and didn't even had time to write emails on maintainer. Once i got the free time I'll try to get in touch with any of them and see what I can do to let them know.

Thanks for your recommendation of reportbug. I'ts been a while i haven't touched that "reportbug" snippet, if i haven't removed yeat i'll drop them a report aswell.

Best regards!
