Debian 10 Sound(Realtek High definition Audio)

#1 Post by Data007 »

I write this in windows and have a screenshot of the machine specs, As you will see it is dual display. when trying to configure(kde) the sound comes out of one of the display's, it should preferably come out of the onboard Realtek High Definition Audio->optical audio out, through to 7.1 amplified. Iam able also to get audio out of the front audio out(headphones & mic)

How to get audio out of the onboard "Realtek High Definition Audio" device?

well that's annoying, it says "the board attachment quota has been reached" well its a desktop gaming machine and works well in win10. :D

Onboard motherboard ="Asustek computer INC. STRIX B250F Gaming(LGA1151)

Have been along the Debian wiki and will post the output of the command in Linux.
Back shortly

Can't you select the sound device to use? I don't use KDE but I can do this in Gnome.

Iam relatively new to Linux however I have been in visually to the sound settings(kde) and run through the options. The only device I can select(that works) is the second display.
Possibly the MBoard(which I have and use for audio) is to new. I have been along the boards website and it has Zero drivers for Linux.
Previously all the other machines I have used, have had no problems whats so ever in configuring both Graphics/sound in Linux.

apt install firmware-realtek ??

I am starting again from fresh I tried to install again and the installation would only go so far failing
to install software, failing to install Grub, Error detect mirror/or configuring same. One thing about the installer(Debian)
your offered the opportunity to skip the step and try another one, this is a waste of time as once failed it's like
a never ending loop of try's
