I don't understand this comment; when you read, you don't copy anything.
But if it works... it's fine.

Actually it does not sound good in gmerlin, it takes a long time to load. And then it stops all the time with stuttering.

I was referring to the link I gave where it says audio CDs cannot be mounted. because they don't follow iso9660 but follow their own redbook spec.

Well it is not fixed. The music stops all the time. I cant try another player but I cannot find one. I tried cmus but I could not use it looks like BIOS.

Maybe I can configure gmerlin. There are lots of options to customize the sample rate. BUt I don't know where to start.

For me an audio cd should be playable without work.

Random thought on this, is the contrib and non-free software repositories enabled in your Debian 10's sources.list file ? If it is, is the libdvd-pkg package installed (avail from the contrib repo)? If neither do both and see if it helps.

Remembered there's a final step in getting libdvd-pkg setup, which is to run this command after installing it.

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg-reconfigure libdvd-pkg

Thanks for the help.

I did not try the contrib package libdvd-pkg yet.

WHen I have more time I will try to tune the gmerlin config.

That audience does not play all CDs is known on several forums. I guess there are somw metadata conflicts on the CD but gmerlin can still play it.

now I cannot start gemerlin, it gets a segfault, even reinstalling it won't fix it.

So I hesitate installing more packages.

Can you please tell me the dpkg commands to reinstall gmerlin in a clean way?

THe two commands below remove the segfault when starting gmerlin but I have to run that after reboot.

sudo mknod /dev/scd0 b 11 0
sudo mknod /dev/scd1 b 11 1

So now I only have the stuttering problem in gmerlin.

If you know how to use the Bios/Vi like player cmus that would help me. But it does not mention auto cd detection in the doc like gmerlin or audience do

It is not only about stuttering and lag. I also have noise in the left headphone.

I will try a new player.
