Re: Deb-Multimedia.org repository for Debian Buster?
It might be safe to use for some packages that aren't in Debian, such as Avidemux. But you have to be quite careful that anything you install from there does not want to upgrade other libraries that are in Debian--there be dragons there. That's where the cautious will do simulated installs first, and look at what will happen closely.Heliosstyx wrote:Thank you to all. I will not use this repository.

Hi,peer wrote:I have installed this repository long time ago. How can I find out which packages from this repository are installed on my pc??
First comment, i.e., place a hashtag # in front of the third-party multimedia repository in /etc/apt/sources.list so that it looks similar to this:
Code: Select all
# deb http://www.deb-multimedia.org buster main non-free
Code: Select all
# apt update && apt install apt-show-versions
Code: Select all
# apt-show-versions|egrep "unknown|""No available"""
You might also like to peruse the classic man page: apt-show-versions
Thanks.

libkvazaar4 liblivemedia68 libmfx1 libmng2 libopenh264-5 libplacebo2 libx264-158 libzimg2

From the output given the following packages (including the keyring and those ending in dmo) are installed from that repository:
Which answers your question.
Removing them might be problematic or even quite difficult but, should you wish to remove them as advised, you can always simulate their removal first as normal user with commands like:
I see you also have virtualbox-6.0:amd64 6.0.12-133076~Ubuntu~bionic
Do you have any other third-party repositories?

Re: [solved]Deb-Multimedia.org repository for Debian Buster?
Virtualbox 6.0.14 is a pretty easy backport from upstream Debian to Buster, assuming you have fairly modern hardware. I didn't like its glaring white interface that would get white-on-white text if I used my preferred darker XFCE themes, but installing qt-style-plugins and then starting it with "VirtualBox -style fusion" makes the text black.
Even better, today I found that you can install qt5-style-kvantum and then use Kvantum manager to set Kvantum to one of its many themes from the qt5-style-kvantum-themes package, and then having VBox use the kvantum style instead of fusion gives you a whole range of colors:
This is a screenshot of VBox 6.0.14 with the Kvantum theme--kvantum manager using KvDarkRed modified by me.
if you then change the theme in Kvantum Manager, Vbox follows it after a restart: KvBlender:
KvYaru:
KvCyan:
The light themes still seem to result in glaring white, but at least you can read the text, and some of the other colored themes are quite nice, IMO.
