I'm running Debian 10 KDE with CUPS 2.2.10-6+deb10u1 and ghostscript 9.27.
Printing is sometimes slow (>30 seconds/page).
I've discovered that the slow cases occur when "gs" (ghostscript) is invoked during printing.
For example, I print a webpage in Firefox.
I see "gs" run on a single CPU for ~30 seconds.
When "gs" completes, the printer starts.
So if I speedup "gs", I'll speedup printing.
Obvious speedups: configure "gs" to use multiple CPUs (instead of a single CPU), and to use more RAM.
"gs" is invoked by CUPS. Unfortunately, I've failed to find documentation showing how to set "gs" options when it is invoked by CUPS.
(I've found documentation on how to set "gs" options when using CLI, but not how to set "gs" options when using CUPS.)
How do I set the default "gs" (ghostscript) options used by CUPS?
Any pointers appreciated.
