possible request package Debian repo upgrade latest version

#1 Post by fozuko »

Hello,

I am a newbie in Linux world, I actually run MX 19 on a i386 arch.
I wonder if it is possible to place a request to Debian team to upgrade a package which is the Debian repository to the latest version. If this is current practice, please let me know how.

The package that triggered my post is php composer.

ok, roger that, I read the FAQ and it's crystal clear now, thanks for answering.
Nevertheless for composer, some major bugs are fixed and the latest release is, unless I am wrong, stable, maybe for a next release.
Thanks for answering.

you might consider to have a go at backports.

Debian 12 - Bookworm on Acer Spin 1

No but you can ask the MX developers, they might build a package for you.

I just did backports from Sid here: https://build.opensuse.org/package/show ... s/composer and they will install on generic Buster if you let it pull in its dependencies.

It looks like a very simple backport to do on your own, also.
