Easiest way to install KDE Minimal?

Debian Buster Net Install:

During installation I only checked the Standard System Utilities box because the default KDE option has bloatware I never use.

Debian Barebone lacks Locate, Nmtui, Dhcpd.service, WicD, Connman, Nmcli, etc.

I can only use WPA_Supplicant and I tried following these steps but I can't make WiFi work.

I've checked online tutorials and changed wlan for wlp3s0 and nothing works.

This is the command I ran:
$ wpa_supplicant -B -Dwext -i wlp3s0 -c /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf

This is what I get:
ioctl [SIOCSIWENCODEEXT] : Invalid Argument

On Debian's guide it says we need to run a dhcpd.service but it's not available.

Once I get wifi connection everything becomes easy by just running:
$ apt install kde-plasma-desktop

Why not just:

1. Install standard system utilities and finish the installation (Do not select the large KDE metapackage, of course.)
2. Install the small metapackage kde-plasma-desktop
3. Install the plasma-nm package to connect to the Internet.
4. Reboot.

Any more "minimal" than that, expect problems.

Install the laptop task to gain access to the common networking tools (but not wicd, connman or NM, they are all useless bloat).

Try it without the -D option. And use iw to see if it associated anyway even after the error message.

That's because you didn't select the laptop task. You can assign static addresses with the ip command.
