[Solved]Video presentation software with webcam. Ideas?

#1 Post by Hallvor »

I am trying to find native software that does the following:

* Records the desktop (read: Powerpoint presentations)
* Records audio from a Bluetooth microphone
* Displays an image from the webcam in the lower right corner
* Has the ability to pause the recording and redo individual slides

Any ideas?

Debian repo has Kazam (but I have never used it)
and simplescreenrecorder

I think neither lets you incorporate webcam input though. Although editing these together from web cam recording software is fairly trivial. But maybe this is something that would not work in your case.

EDIT: but vokoscreen appears to be say that it can do this.

I have tested several today, and they all had their small (or large) inconveniences. Vokoscreen looked promising, but I couldn't quite make it work like I wanted. Maybe user error.

Maybe I'll settle with just the presentation and audio. Kazam looks and performs OK, so I'll try that.

You can combine simplescreenrecorder with guvcview to show your webcam in a small window.

I've heard good things about obs-studio, too. Just built 25.0.1 for MX Linux, but haven't had a choice to update it here:

stevepusser: I was able to pin the webcam on top and move it to the corner, so that pretty much solved my problems. Thanks.
