Problem with download speed on torrents

#1 Post by grobar87 »

Hi,
I just installed Debian 10 Lxde on my old laptop Dell Vostro A860. Everything works fine except deluge. Maximum download speed is 2.0 Mib/s. I try with qBittorrent too, but same problem. I don't have this problem on Ubuntu and windows for example. I need help for fixing this.
Sorry for bad english.
Thanks.

It could be a number of reasons, including different default settings.

Torrents are not very good for estimating download speed, by it's design it varies.

You could install

Code: Select all

speedtest-cli
But even it shows variable speed if you run it many times in sequence.

What download speed would you expect and why?

I use deluge on vanilla debian installation with lxde... in transmission on ubuntu download speed is 5-6 Mib/s and same download speed in qBittorrent on windows.
That's why i expect better download speed on debian.

Check your settings, then. I can assure you that Debian is not hard coded to slow down your torrents.

the torrent client is not using all your Upload is it? You can limit it to 5mb/sec and see if that helps?
