Hi
We arranged some academic material...
1. I put up GPLv3 license to it. I couldnt figure out any better alternate!
2. And I was planning to upload the same to some website for public benefit, and sharing between our Trainers & Students, also.
Please advise fir both.
Thankyou

Perhaps try something like Gitea if you can self-host, they have an official Docker image: https://docs.gitea.io/en-us/install-with-docker/
GitHub is nice but it's now owned by Microsoft and appears to be proceeding through their standard EEE paradigm...

How about a standard Creative Commons type license? You can require that they attribute it to you.
