#1 Post by hack3rcon »

Hello,
Sometimes when I'm working with the system then it logged out suddenly and all programs closed and I should logging to the system and open the programs again. For example, I'm working with the LibreOffice and it happened. I checked the dmesg and it shows:

Code: Select all

Which other parts of system must be examined for the troubleshooting?

Thank you.

Post the output of:

Code: Select all

sudo journalctl -u systemd-logind

You were asked to post the out put of the command, please do that so they can help you.
Also, just post the output, using the command as they show it,..if they wanted you to show something else they would have shown a different syntax.

At least try make a little effort your self, how to list by date and time using journalctl
===================================
First hit: https://www.thegeekdiary.com/beginners- ... temd-logs/

Code: Select all

journalctl --since "2015-02-02 20:30:00" --until "2015-03-31 12:00:00"
Also you could have just looked at the manual:

Code: Select all

$ man journalctl

Code: Select all

$ journalctl --since "2017-06-15 08:15:00"
$ journalctl --since today
$ journalctl --since yesterday

I can see 2 problems here:
1. It looks like in Your system juornald logs are not persistent - and persistent logs have been enabled by systemd update few months ago - how is this possible? (*)
Anyway, You should enable persistent logs -> see the manual:

Code: Select all

man 5 journald.conf

2. Apparently logind logs wont tell anything useful - IMO the only chance is to enable debug mode for systemd, by adding kernel boot parameter:

Code: Select all

systemd.log_level=debug
Note: this will cause that a lot of additional information will be logged -> You should consider to set max log size limit in journald.conf

(*) EDIT: it's because stable has systemd v241-7~deb10u4, the update was available in backports ;)
