Hey guys, hopefully you can help.
I am running the latest Debian stable and since changing my internet provider (and router) my internet keeps cutting out, especially when running network intensive commands that make lots of requests like apt upgrade or git clone [repo].
All of my other devices work perfectly so I'm not convinced its an issue with the router. I have never had this problem connecting to any other network and tethering to my phone still works ok.
Any ideas / things I should check?
Thanks

Intermittent internet issues, only with a particular network
Re: Intermittent internet issues, only with a particular net
Does that mean it was working properly before changing ISP and router?delboy wrote: . . . since changing my internet provider (and router) my internet keeps cutting out . . .

Yep. But every other device works perfectly. I haven't tested another linux device but it works as expected on windows 10 running in a vm.Bulkley wrote:Does that mean it was working properly before changing ISP and router?delboy wrote: . . . since changing my internet provider (and router) my internet keeps cutting out . . .

I had a similar problem when we changed from ADSL to NBN Broadband. Turns out it was the router which was randomly dropping connections in the network, but mostly one particular machine.
If you turn the router off, wait a bit and then restart and all connections are back then that would point to the router being the culprit. If the router is supplied by your ISP then they buy these things at the lowest possible price and quality is usually the first compromise.

Can you elaborate ?delboy wrote:my internet keeps cutting out
- IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity with the router (ping, arping)
- IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity beyond the router (ping, traceroute)
- DNS resolution (host, dig)
etc.

Hi all
Sorry I forgot to revisit this thread. The problem was resolved which I changed to a usb wifi card.
I'm swapping out the internal one for an upgraded version so will report back.
