How to install *.iso packages

I have been looking around as well for this topic, but found no clear process on how to install "debian-10.6.0-and64-dvd-2.iso and as well number 3. Anyone who can guide me here as newbie I am ?

Only DVD #1 is bootable. The other DVDs act as Repositories.

If you go to install a program which is on DVD#2 you should be prompted to insert that DVD.

If you install #2 and #3 you will probably end up with a load of stuff you don't need and which will go out of date.

I do have no 2 and 3 on an usb stick, have very slow internett connection, but I would like to know how I do install them in debian f.i. using the synaptic program.

Your Debian installation only requires #1 to be "normal."

You don't "install" 2 and 3. They both contain EXTRA programs that you may choose to individually add to your Debian installation, if you need them.

For example, I've been using Linux since 1996, but I've never needed to install anything from 2 or 3.

I am looking for if freecad would be in one of those .iso files, that is the only reason I have.

Mount it. All .iso files are designed to be written to media for installation, but they can be mounted, and the files accessed. You can mount the .iso to any convenient mount point.

If you have an Internet connection, freecad should be downloaded and installed automatically when you do

It's not necessary to insert the disk (or .iso). You only need to do that if you don't want to use your Internet connection.

Do you want just freecad, or install Debian and freecad?

If you just need freecad, check https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Installing Freecad is available to Linux, Windows and Mac.

But if you want Debian, that has freecad in the repo, just boot from your stick 1.

That was also in my mind, I've used it in the past with opitical disks, does it work with usb sticks?

I think you can run the command then mount the USB stick under /dev/cdrom (or so) manually when it asks you to insert the CD/DVD. I can't test this atm though so I may be wrong.
