Accesability applet

#1 Post by pythagorasmk »

I am using KDE with Debian Buster. Every time I start the system Accessibility applet is started. How to disable Accessibility applet from starting with the system?

You should be able to disable the startup in KDE's system settings. Try "session" or "startup" as search terms to make finding it easier.

What starts exactly? Is it just the plasmoid in the panel? You can remove plasmoids. Right click on panel, select Edit Panel, then hover over what you want to remove and a popup should appear with remove option.

Check ~/.config/autostart/ for any .desktop files that may be responsible.

It is application "kaccessibleapp", and its icon is part of the system tray. There is nothing in ~/.config/autostart, I don't know how it is started, that is the problem.

That seems to rely on /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.kaccessible.service so perhaps see https://askubuntu.com/questions/843076/ ... us-service

Too be honest, I don't know anything about XML. I cannot understand how to block the execution of the org.kde.kaccessible.service.
For now I will manually close kaccessible app.
Thanks.

Did you try unchecking all the check boxes in System Settings > Accessibility?

This might be almost a necrobumb, but if you right click the space left of the clock on the systemtray, you find a lot of options, including hiding certaing icons.
