I'm having issues with latency consistency in Reaper. Ie, the latency can vary by +-50 ms, thus making latency correction impossible.
I do NOT need low latency. I don't care about the latency duration, I only care that it is the same value each time.
Thus, my understanding is that I need the RT kernel.
However, I have an Nvidia video card and I'm currently using the proprietary driver.
How do I build the Nvidia kernel module with the RT kernel?
Or would the Liquorix kernel work for this use case, and is it compatible with an Nvidia card?
And as an absolute last resort, would nouveau work with either RT or Liquorix?

I'm using Liquorix 5.8 kernel with Nvidia (450.xx? can't remember exact one, on different system atm) from backports. Not sure if Liquorix 5.9 works with that yet or maybe need to wait for 455.x.Or would the Liquorix kernel work for this use case, and is it compatible with an Nvidia card?
Nouveau should work with either depending on your card and desired resolution. You didn't mention which Nvidia card you have which is important info. And as an absolute last resort, would nouveau work with either RT or Liquorix?
I use Harrison Mixbus and other audio programs on 4K monitor with GTX970 and nvidia driver and it works fine. Haven't tried Reaper on it lately.

Nvidia-driver 450.80.02, which is in buster-backports now, works well with 5.9 kernels.

Re: Nvidia driver with RT kernel
IIRC it mostly works fine but without nvidia-uvm so CUDA-based functions don't work. There was a post yesterday which suggested that's now fixed in 455.x. https://forums.developer.nvidia.com/t/d ... 5-9/159776stevepusser wrote:Nvidia-driver 450.80.02, which is in buster-backports now, works well with 5.9 kernels.
