Newer kernels with bugs, need a very expert in Kernel&Deb

Postby frenchn00b » 2007-09-01 22:14

Hello,
I am still with my problem with kernel since lot of months. No kernel of linux are getting better, but just worst... A genious guy, kmuto, author of several books, has released a kernel, compiled by himself.
It is based on the vanilla kernel 2.6.20.1-1-686 or 2.6.20.1-686
this kernel is the only one of LINUX !! The very only one that can give me sound with my pinnacle tv card (I use tvtime).

Is there anyone, interested by kernels that could make linux better (since we know it suffers with drivers and hardware issues)

Please find the kmuto kernel and config :
http://yellowprotoss.ye.funpic.org/webs ... 20.1-1-686
and its location of my /boot
http://yellowprotoss.ye.funpic.org/website/kmuto/boot/

Can someone tell me what should I had in compiling my newer kernels ??

Can a kernel developper fix this bug !.??? PLEASE PLEASE HELP
I use this method to compile my kernels http://yellowprotoss.ye.funpic.org/webs ... compile.sh
(new kernel pre-compiled failed, and sitll no sound in tvtime)
(knopix, kernel gives too no sound in tvtime)

Only kmuto kernel rocks

perfectly normal if the module does not exist

I think you need to slow down a little and explain what you are trying to do and how you are going about it. Personally, I cannot figure out what you want an answer/suggestion for but that may just be my misunderstanding.

maybe take some time and at least skim thru

Hi,

Compiling kernel is not easy indeed, to take it with attention. I would like to have sound with my tv card with all kind of kernels >2.6.20. Pictures are always okay and working.

I noticed that one kernel 2.6.20-1 can handle my sound card : sound, the only one.
You can find a website I made to explain all in details : http://yellowprotoss.ye.funpic.org/webs ... _etch.html

I read one a website that it can maybe be the missing tda module as indicated above. I checked in kmuto, $lsmod | grep tda and nothing. It is weird since the sound is perfectly working.

Can a good developper or talented person in this field (media / kernel stuffs) help a bit please ?

Thanks a lot.

Any indications or advice or suggestions are fully welcome ! Good evening
