suspend won't properly wake up... trouble shooting?

#1 Post by graysky »

I have lenny-i386 installed on an older Athlon XP/nForce 2 based system. Everything works fine except waking up when the system is suspended. When I try (by hitting the power button), the HDD starts, fans start, but the monitor stays off and I have to hard reset.

What can I do to troubleshoot this?

Here are the hardware details if relevant:

Athlon XP 3200+
Asus A7N8X-Deluxe mainboard

...here is the output from #lspci -v instead:

I can't give you a precise answer, but I had a similar problem with an Apple iBook g4. It turned out to be some unfortunate interplay between the sleep stuff and Network Manager.

I could get it to behave if I disconnected from the network before putting it in suspend. Now I have dumped Network Manager and followed the instructions here:

http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?t=27573

Now the system works perfectly.
