firefox on debian

Postby Pacopag » 2010-09-10 15:14

Hi. I've been using Epiphany web browser, and I really like it. But now I'm trying to fill out an online application and it says that my browser is not supported. It says that Firefox is ok, but I can't seem to install it. I just searched Firefox in Synaptic, but nothing relevant comes up. Is it a big deal to install firefox in debian?

Thanks,
Pacopag

Try this:
viewtopic.php?f=10&t=44605#p253263
In case it does not work searching for "firefox +craigevil" should spit out some further threads.

You probably can simply do that:
viewtopic.php?p=203564#p203564
but i never had to deal with it.

A bit much, considering the simple fix, isn't it?

I added the Mozilla/Firefox repros to my Debian Sid sources.list ... then did an apt-get update.

Code: Select all
deb http://mozilla.debian.net/packages/ ./

I am using Iceweasel ... and I installed from Synaptic the newest 4.0b3 ... and now, it has upgraded me to Iceweasel 4.0b5

I suppose this would work for Firefox as well.
