disable shutdown/reboot/standby for users [xfce]

hi

is there any way to disable shutdown/reboot/standby/hibernate for a regular user in xfce 4.8?

what i tried already:
- there is no sudoers entry
- users are not in the groups wheel or power
- renamed /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.UPower.conf to /etc/dbus-1/system.d/org.freedesktop.UPower.conf.disabled and put chmod 000 on it
- saw that xfce had a kiosk mode .... but not in 4.8 just some completely undescribed crap with a new xfconf system

how hard can it be ..... :? :? :? :?

Code: Select all
moatib@debianx:~$ cat /etc/xdg/xfce4/kiosk/kioskrc

[xfce4-session]
Shutdown=root,moatib

Only root and me can restart, shut down, hibernate and suspend.
All other user can only logout. And this is on Xfce 4.8.
apt-get install braindump -t unstable

Stupid changes are not synonymous of useful progress.

Not quite what you want, but you can remove the suspend and hibernate buttons from the Xfce logout menu by entering these commands into a terminal...
Code: Select all
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -np '/shutdown/ShowSuspend' -t 'bool' -s 'false'

Code: Select all
xfconf-query -c xfce4-session -np '/shutdown/ShowHibernate' -t 'bool' -s 'false'

Setting the keys to 'true' will bring the buttons back.
