3D games crash and segfault how to investigate?

Postby GODhack » 2012-07-19 15:04

I have nvidia GTX550Ti. And 64bit Debian testing.
Redeclipse randomly crashes for me with entire system and I see no errrors in Xorg.log
Xonotic randomly segfaults for me, I even reported to devs they can not reproduce :(

What video driver are you using and how did you install it?

Have you looked at the various logs in /var/log/ including the Xorg logs?

What have you done to investigate?

I use:
Code: Select all
apt-get install nvidia-kernel${VERSION}-$(uname -r)

With the latest kernel version in testing.

I ckecked only for errors in Xorg.log and game generated. Is there smart way to find what is wrong? Or crashes in 3D are normal?
