Now that's the ticket - even more to my liking. Gratitude.geeqie I bit fat for my liking but you do get an awful lot of bang for your buck. I really like the way you can set your image editor, view the metadata and set wallpaper. But it does way way more than that

I appreciate the recommendations! Tried each and liked gpicview best - most closely like gqview.L_V wrote:See:rippin wrote:gqview has been gone a long time.

Re: Is there any software you miss that used to be in Debian
gqview has been gone a long time. It was a fine image viewer with nice keyboard actions; no need for a mouse. Ristretto is good but the keys aren't as easy for me to remember.

Thank you Debian 10!
Man, it's been a while since I could use Debian because my newer laptop wasn't supported. Ubuntu made it possible to use but, honestly, I prefer a real Debian experience. With the release of Buster, I was able to use Debian on this laptop. Hat tip also to Debian Live CD project.

Switching from DSL/cable to dialup
Debian Lenny 2.6.26-1-686 I've decided to change things up a bit by moving from eth0 to ppp0. Just a note on usable modems in Linux: found a good working USB modem, ZOOM model 3095 (said on box for "Windows, Mac and Linux - kernel 2.6.19 and higher"); plus they have a DEB on the provided C...

Post back and let us know how it goes for you. I'm back to report how things went with a new TX. Sync with a USB cable to jpilot was easy. However, the USB Bluetooth has been a struggle . So, I'm here to request help. I'd have pulled all my hair out by now if I weren't already bald! Debian Etch in ...

I have and use a Palm Tungsten/E. I dont bluetooth or wireless. Just a /simple/ person here. I prefer hardwired myself . These devices I'm planning to buy no longer have a mini USB connector ... only bluethooth. Frankly, I don't care for that, but the device is needed. All I can tell you is that my...

Hey, txHarleyMan, thanks a lot for answering me! Haven't bought either one since I've been uncertain if it would be a good purchase. Which do you have working, the E2 or TX? Are you employing bluetooth? Which device brand? Try this: # modprobe visor Add Visor to the end of /etc/modules Reboot here W...

Can Palm Tungsten e2 or TX be used?
Using Debian Etch (2.6.18-4-686) on an Asus k8n mobo (this page gives details of the board http://tinyurl.com/2t4ye4). I'm interested getting a Palm TE2 or TX which have bluetooth built-in. They each come with Palm OS 5.4. The TE2 has an Intel Xscale 200MHZ CPU, and TX uses an Intel ARM-based CPU at...

Yeah, I have that webcamera and I would like to use it in Debian but I dont have such drivers. Logitech hasn't given me any drivers, so I have to install some o-s-drivers. I have used the Google and search but i haven't found anything that would work. <snip> I haven't any webcams, therefore I canno...

... or are you using a CD-ROM? You say you're booting from a DVD, so why are you trying to access the CD-ROM?

Re: Question about installing programs and adminstration
Hi I recently installed Debian and have never used linux or any form of unix before. Good start ! Those developers did a great job on the installer. Firstly I think there might have been a problem in that even though I installed Debian I dont seem to have full admin capabilities. There are certain ...
