Re: auto login and startx without a display manager - lenny

I suspect that systemd breaks this method It does, here is a solution. If you've modified /etc/inittab put it back to it's original. From https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Auto-Login_without_a_Graphical_Desktop_Manager_%26_with_Systemd with modification for debian. From the console (as root)...

How did you install e17? From the main debian repos (if so what branch), from the e17 source svn tree or did you use the *deb from Debe17.com

So did everyone give up on uzbl? Personally I still have it installed but haven't opened it in forever, Chrome and Firefox do what I need. I still use it as my main browser. I still have the odd downloading issue & one off pages that don't load, but the latest version in Sid seems to be a whole...

I would say that whom ever offered the *.torrent is the "distributor" and they are responsable for providing the source. Members of a torrent swarm had to obtian the *.torrent file from the distributor.

Re: Enlightenment, e17 needs attention of debian packagers

Bro.Tiag Your debe17 does an excellent job of installing the easy_e17.sh script, and the method does install most of the dependencies required. The problem is, the easy_e17.sh script it installs is a couple of years old. A newer script is available, that is more compatible with current e17. It also...

I rather build/add them one by one instead of the whole e-modules-extras. Thanks for your help. Job OK, cd to /var/cache/e17_src/ and check in E-MODULES-EXTRA to see if the modules you want are there. If so cd to the one you want. Then run; ./autogen.sh && make && make install You m...

Bro.Tiag and nadir, I just installed e17 using debe17. This package does not come with weather or calender right? I don't seem to find them anywhere. Re: Replacing LILO with GRUB Problem

Hi guys. I'm new to Debian (or Linux in general). I'm trying to go from LILO to GRUB (legacy). However, when I try to "sudo grub-install /dev/sdb", I get: http://pastebin.com/mc7XaDCB Well for one thing you don't need "sudo" if your already root (as your screen shot implies) but...

Re: Enlightenment, e17 needs attention of debian packagers

I did find: http://debe17.com/ It offers a very outdated debe17-svn_1.1.1-0_all.deb. Based upon an outdated easy_e17.sh script. Installation will give you a VERY minimal e17. Using this and updating the easy_e17.sh script to the current version http://omicron.homeip.net/projects/easy_e17/easy_e17.s...

Re: About your choice of DE/WM

Not sure what I'd do with a computer built after '05. I suppos I'd start with screen on sid untill my family made me put x-window on it. Then I'd add e17, because finally after 8 years they are used to it. I'd also have dwm since I've really grown fond of it, but just for me.

Re: Does partimage support ntfs partitions?

In Squeeze, partimage warns me that ntfs partition support is still experimental. I have Windows 7 installed on this laptop eating about half my disk space and I was thinking about making a backup of the 3 primary partitions occupied by Windows 7. Does partimage play well with ntfs partitions? As I...

Re: debian-multimedia.org

So is this Debian's way of telling us to upgrade or install Squeeze, because multi-media support for Lenny has been withdrawn? Fascinating-and very Microsoftish. If multi-media worked flawlessly in Squeeze, that would be one thing. It does not. Sadly Squeeze was released before it was ready - again...
