That would be useful, if I could even access apt-get/aptitude. Thankfully, I dual boot with XP, so I can another ext partition for a clean Debian Lenny from my Debian CD, and copy the libs (.so's) from the new install to my main Lenny install. Then I can wipe out my old partition. (Eeesh, working wi...

Yeah. Got rid of the backup to save space :). Not one of my better ideas

So, if I can't recover these files (I'm clueless), then what do I need to do to get a useable Lenny again? I can't CTRL+f in iceweasel, can't open gnome-terminal, as well as many others. Help?

Help! Accidentally bombed /usr/lib/

Geez. Not the time to make a mistake like this at midnight :P. Arrghh... now iceweasel is highlighting every word as mispelt. Anyways, I accidentally rm -fr /usr/lib/'ed. It was actually an rm -fr * as root, but the cd command before it had a typo. I'm really tired, but I don't want to shut down my ...

I tried completely rebuilding from the latest version in testing, which did absolutely nothing. I could try using the Etch fglrx. Is using an older version, preferably Etch, using aptitude possible? I forgot to point out that I'm using Lenny. Oh, and thanks for helping me solve a Very Annoying bug w...

Oh man. It came back. It did work, but now it locks up again. I'm not too familiar w/ ATI cards. What happens if you use 'ati' driver in xorg.conf (instead of fglrx)? Do you still get lockups? After switching to ati, it never locked up once! But I remember having a few problems with ati, so I'm afr...

Everything locks up on log out. Suggestions?

On all Desktop environments, KDE or GNOME, whenever I log out, or press CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE, or press shutdown, my computer locks out and I can't do anything. All that is shown is an empty Desktop background with no icons or toolbars. I can't press anything, I can't caps lock, and I can't even CTRL+A...

About Supertux, a look at the error make me believe the error is from Supertux, not your driver or whatsoever. Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling it might solve the problem. Do you know which part concerning your graphics have been upgraded recently ? This problem applies to every game, not just s...

Thank you for helping me, Issyer! That worked pretty well. Is it possible to type in a different language too? Is this possible with a standard qwerty keyboard? Will I need another keyboard? I'm also looking over Xfce, I learn from the masters. I can't seem to set the default language either

Welcome to the Debian forums, lagbot! :D I myself was asking the same question, and after upgrading I do have an answer to tell you. I haven't noticed a drop in stability, but a huge increase in the apt-get update upgrade's I need to execute. If there is a bug which I rarely discovered, I usually fi...
