Re: [Software] apt warnings about "Target is defined multiple times"

Well I added comments to my sources.list and I now get: apt-get clean DebianTim:~# apt update Get:1 file:/var/cache/apt-build/repository apt-build InRelease Ign:1 file:/var/cache/apt-build/repository apt-build InRelease Get:2 file:/var/cache/apt-build/repository apt-build Release [1,530 B] Get:2 fil...

Re: [Software] apt warnings about "Target is defined multiple times"

got it, changed everything to testing and commented out the firmware part. I added the file it needs for the firmware. Output looks like this now: # apt update Get:1 file:/var/cache/apt-build/repository apt-build InRelease Ign:1 file:/var/cache/apt-build/repository apt-build InRelease Get:2 file:/va...

Re: [Software] apt warnings about "Target is defined multiple times"

So change the parts that say Bookworm to testing and comment out the firmware update section?

Code: Select all

# Firmware updates
deb https://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm main non-free-firmware
that was done to comply with section 5.1.1 of Bookworm release notes

[Software] apt warnings about "Target is defined multiple times"

Hi All, I know this is a "dumb question" however; when I run apt update or apt-get update I get a bunch of these warnings: W: Target Packages (main/binary-i386/Packages) is configured multiple times in /etc/apt/sources.list:15 and /etc/apt/sources.list:25 W: Target Packages (main/binary-al...

Re: question about finding a specifc part of a module

okay, so in `/etc/environment.d/` there's two files. 90-atk-adaptor.conf which has GTK_MODULES=${GTK_MODULES:+$GTK_MODULES:}gail:atk-bridge in it and a file named 90qt-ally,conf which has QT_ACCESSIBILITY=1 in that. `/usr/lib/environment.d/` has two files, 99-enviroment.conf that is empty and 990-sn...

Re: question about finding a specifc part of a module

To disable the radeonsi Mesa driver add these lines to ~/.config/environment.d/mesa.conf:
okay what if that folder doesn't exist (environment.d) in the users home folder, create it? I'm on Gnome Classic if that matters and yes I have show hidden checked.

question about finding a specifc part of a module

Hi All, First I'd like to apologize if this isn't in the right part of the forums, but I wasn't sure where else to ask this. So, the short (hopefully) version is: I have an issue where WebKitWebProcess takes my CPU to 100% usage when I check my local mail. I contacted the Evolution mailing list and ...

Virt-manager virbr0 doesn't stay connected

okay I'm confused, I had a working connection. I was able to install Debian Testing as a net install so it worked once. If I run ip addr show it shows 5: virbr0: <NO-CARRIER,BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc noqueue state DOWN group default qlen 1000 link/ether 52:54:00:f4:b8:83 brd ff:ff:ff:ff...

Re: Changed from Radeon Module to AMDGPU and lost all sound [SOLVED]

Thanks, I'm assuming I'd un-comment the option I need?
Also the file that is /was edited is in /etc/default/grub making this will override boot time defaults?

Re: Changed from Radeon Module to AMDGPU and lost all sound [SOLVED]

If you care, it is simpler to put this in /etc/modprobe.d
okay as it's own file? I currently have alsa.base.conf, amd64-microcode-blacklist.conf, dkms.conf, and oss-compat.conf so would I create a file amdgpu.conf and add that to it or???? :)

Re: Changed from Radeon Module to AMDGPU and lost all sound

Well, unbelievably I fixed it. I went in and changed the line in/etc/default/grub to read: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet amdgpu.cik_support=1 radeon.cik_support=1" before it read : GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet radeon.cik_support=0 amdgpu.cik_support=1 " so apparently mak...

Re: Changed from Radeon Module to AMDGPU and lost all sound

yes and I wonder if that changed between Kernel 5.15 and Kernel 5.18 (which I'm on) or how to make it start running.
