[Testing - Trixie] boot delay

hello,
about two days ago my computer started to wait during boot abt. 1'30sec and on display is a text;
reached target time-set
dev tpmrm0 time-set start running

after some minutes the boot continues and computer starts as usual.

I wonder if I should do something because of this delay, or just wait?

Looking forward to get some advice!

[Testing - Trixie] [SOLVED] OKI C332 laser printer problem

My laser printer Oki C332, does not anymore print A4 pages in full size. All pages get now printed downscaled to ½ size, two pages printed side by side on one page. I have made this type of printouts before in purpose by adjusting the printer settings, but now printer settings are for full scale.

I have double checked that my printer setup is ok. When I noticed this behaviour few days ago, I changed the the connection from usb to ethernet (OKI C332PS.ppt file) but it didn't help either.

Kernel panic after buster upgrade

I have an old HPCompaq dc5800 Microtower (4GB ram, 240GB ssd) which was working correctly with debian stretch (stable) with Mate desktop (latest kernel 4.9.0-11-686-pae).

After upgrading from stretch to buster it won't start anymore, kernel panic message is on screen and everything is freezed. But if I select kernel 4.9 from boot menu, debian buster starts normally and the pc is working properly.
I have also tried to do a clean install of buster with no success - kernel panic.

I have no clue ...

My computer is pentium dual core with 2G Ram from 2008 and therefore I have always before also installed 32bit version of debian. Now when I as last resort installed 64bit version of debian 9, I'm positively surprised how good it's running

Glad to read that this odd feature of debian 9 has also reached debian developers!

Re: debian 9 libreoffice writer fails to start

ok,
I purged libreoffice and renamed libreoffice folder in .config directory. After that apt-get install libreoffice.

Now when I type in terminal:

Code: Select all

harri@debian-p5:~$ libreoffice
harri@debian-p5:~$
LibreOffice Main 5 screen opens in the display. when I then select "Writer Document" from left menu bar LibreOffice 5 Main screen closes and nothing else happens. No output on terminal.

LibreOffice 5.2 crash, debian 9.0 stable

Always when I click on LibreOffice Writer or Base icon on toolbar, LibreOffice 5 window opens in the middle of display for few seconds and on top bar LibreOffice Writer text is visible about 15 sec. There is no error message to be seen as a reason for the crash.

Re: How to close nautilus ftp connection (=logout)

Thanks for your reply!

Yes, I have tested unmount and the connection can be closed on that way. It's not the cleanest method but it works.

Hopefully on stretch this item is solved better.

Re: localhost server side includes (SSI)

Good news, I got it working on server!

I used the info you told on previous message and the response from server is ok. I must use .shtml files for SSI but that's ok.

Code: Select all

<!--#include virtual
was false

Code: Select all

<!--#include
is the way to go.

Thank you for your advice!

Re: localhost server side includes (SSI)

Ok, I will try to explain more.

I'm testing new web pages on my local computer (debian jessie stable) before loading them to the server. Localhost is working correctly, and as a matter of fact I can test all pages already now. With SSI I thought to include e.g. standard header/footer to the pages <!--#include virtual="file.shtml" --> I can manage the task without SSI but if I can make it work, it's an interesting option to add some basic functionality to web pages.

When I add this sentence ...
