Which repo for mozplugger in wheezy?

It seems there is currently no release of mozplugger in Wheezy. When I type "sudo apt-get install mozplugger" I get: Package 'mozplugger' has no installation candidate What repository should I use? What line beginning with "deb" should I put in my /etc/apt/sources.list? The reaso...

Re: after Wheezy install, gscan2pdf "no devices found"

I found what it was - there is a new version of the scanner driver.
Google "brother scanner linux driver" to go to the page for downloads, install, and configuration instructions.

after Wheezy install, gscan2pdf "no devices found"

gscan2pdf was working fine until I upgraded to Wheezy. Now it says "no devices found" when I try to scan. sane-find-scanner -v says "found your USB scanner (vendor=0x04f9, product=0x0293) at libusb:001:005 # Your USB scanner was (probably detected). It may or may not be supported by S...

Re: Wireless drops every minute after upgrade to Wheezy

I'm sorry I didn't give a lot of background, partly because I wasn't sure what was relevant. Having to deal with a disconnection every 30 seconds was a bit disconcerting. I was hoping someone had a similar problem, and might relate what they did to fix it, if they were able to. Or maybe someone coul...

dual monitor shortcut keys to move window

:?: I have dual monitors with GNOME, and am wondering if there is a shortcut key equivalent to Windows for moving a window from one screen to the other. I think in Windows it's something like Window+Shift+arrow. http://productivity.ben61a.com/windows/windows-7-shortcut-keys.php Is there something si...

I followed the instructions here: http://wiki.debian.org/Gnome#task which were apt-get install aptitude tasksel tasksel install gnome-desktop --new-install and it broke everything (mouse stopped working, CPU overheated, inode errors, everything went very slowly, took long to open the terminal window...

Dual monitors on Debian Squeeze - set up in Gnome

I've been trying for a while to figure out how to get dual monitors to work on Debian Linux. Finally, they're working, and it was pretty easy. The missing link was here: http://library.gnome.org/users/user-guide/2.32/user-guide.html#goscustdesk-70 I couldn't find this because I was searching for &qu...

What flash drive works with Debian?

What flash drive works with Debian? I guess I mean USB flash drives.

I am on Debian Squeeze (6.0.2).

I will be grateful for any responses from people who are successfully using flash drives with Debian, that is, able to transfer files to and from a device.

Re: /etc/apt/sources.list

/etc/apt/sources.list

How do you know what to put in /etc/apt/sources.list?

It seems like for every update or install that I do, I end up Googling for what to put in this, and it's always something different.

Is there any standardization for what the contents of /etc/apt/sources.list should be?

Has anyone found a digital voice recorder that works with Debian? I am delaying an interview project to find out if there is any digital voice recorder that I could use with Debian. ntpd not starting

Hello, I'm trying to sync my clock. I think I would like to do this by the "ntpd" daemon running. I think it should start up on boot, but it doesn't. I have the following in my /var/log/syslog: Jul 18 23:44:14 neo ntpd[1780]: ntpd 4.2.6p2@1.2194-o Sun Oct 17 13:45:13 UTC 2010 (1) Jul 18 23...

Re: Debian 6 Squeeze RE-Install issue.

I have this same problem. I updated to Squeeze, and Grub2, and it leaves me at the command line prompt.

How do I find what drivers I need, or what I need to change in what configuration file?

Thank you.

Re: Compatible Debian Lenny PCMCIA card wireless adapter?

Thank you very much, Steve.

I guess I'm trying to decide between ceni and wicd because both seem to support wired and wireless.

Can you or anyone say what the difference is between them, or which is better?

Thanks,

Linda

Re: Compatible Debian Lenny PCMCIA card wireless adapter?

Thank you, Refracta and 4D696B65. On this webpage, http://wiki.debian.org/prism54#p54pci , I got stuck at step 4: 4. Verify your device has an available interface: iwconfig I don't know what this means. Does my device have an available interface? If so, can I tell what it is from this? An available ...
