Re: Updated Nvidia install?

All I ever do is 'apt-get install nvidia-glx nvidia-xconfig', let it do it's thing, run nvidia-xconfig, and reboot. I've been doing it this way for years and it's always worked.

Indeed, I didn't use module-assistant.

lsmod|grep nv returns:

I sometimes see what program Ubuntu uses for a certain task and then use it on my Debian Testing system. For example, network-manager-gnome.

Empathy Aim Support

Does anybody know how I can add AIM support to Empathy? By default it only supports Jabber, Salut, and Google Talk. I noticed ""empathy-account-widget-aim.glade" in /usr/share/lempathybut don't know how to enable widgets in Empathy.

Your post reminded me that emerald isn't installed (and isn't in the repos) when not using Shame's repo so that got me thinking that Compiz must not be falling back to gtk-window-decorator (thus no titlebars). I installed ccsm and ran it with Compiz not running. It must've jarred something because t...

Geforce 7600gt using 169.07 from nvidia's page. I'm sure I could get it to work fine if I used Shame's repo but I'd really like to get it work without using a 3rd party repo.

Are there any guides for getting Compiz working using just the sid repo? The last time I tried it I was left with no window borders. :?
