Re: WARNING!. Problems with the incoming update - kernel 6.1.0-18 & nvidia driver
I've successfully upgraded using proposed-updates. There were no problems, and everything now works as it should.

Re: Stable. Problems with the incoming update - kernel 6.1.0-18
I have nVidia too, but I think the failure to build the nVidia module is a consequence of the linux-headers failure, not the cause of the problem.

Re: Stable. Problems with the incoming update - kernel 6.1.0-18
I can confirm this issue. I'm in the UK. Here's the summary of the failure of apt upgrade: dpkg: error processing package linux-headers-6.1.0-18-amd64 (--configure): installed linux-headers-6.1.0-18-amd64 package post-installation script subprocess returned error exit status 1 dpkg: dependency probl...

Re: scrcpy alternative app - to copy Android content
I use the WiFi File Transfer app on my Android phone. It easily copies files in either direction using a browser on the PC. I know this isn't exactly what you asked for, but it's very easy to use and does the job quickly and smoothly.

Re: [Debian News] Due to an issue in ext4 with data corruption in kernel 6.1.64-1, we are pausing the 12.3 image release
What are the consequences for anyone who has already installed this upgrade? The bug report refers to "non-serious data loss".

Re: APT issues just starting out. Hope this is a simple fix.
It makes no difference whether you comment out the CD line or delete it. Commenting out is simpler. You could also comment out all the deb-src lines, unless you have plans to build your own packages from source.

Re: KDE desktop configuration fails after update - bookworm
I'm sure it won't be weeks, or even many days. Today's upgrade included half or more of the packages involved in the transition.
This issue affects every bookworm installation using kde/plasma, so I don't think one more user's hardware details is likely to be helpful.

Re: KDE desktop configuration fails after update - bookworm
This update is part of the libkscreen transition, and there are several kde/plasma packages still on hold, which will complete the transition when they're dealt with. I don't believe there's anything you can do at this stage other than wait for the completion of the transition. The crashing of kded ...

Re: [Testing - Bookworm] "Clock", and "battery and brightness" widget broken in Plasma 5.26
I did that same upgrade today, and my clock widget is still working normally. When I started the upgrade I was informed that a number of packages were held back, because they needed to delete one package and replace it with a new package. So, after completing the first partial upgrade, I rebooted an...

Re: Today's debian testing update broke my audio.
I'm using testing with KDE/Plasma, and the system wouldn't allow me to restart pulseaudio, but a full restart got everything working properly.

Re: Installing Wine : broken packages, unmet dependencies
I met the same problem, and solved it rather easily by using
instead of
Up to that point I had followed the winehq instructions exactly.
Code: Select all
#apt install wine
Code: Select all
#apt install winehq-stable

Re: hplip-3.22.6.run Not working
The '#' before that command indicates that it should be run with root privilege. That means you should either use it with 'sudo' (if you have enabled sudo): sudo hp-setup or become root before typing the command (if you have obtained a root password): su - (enter root password when asked) hp-setup
