Re: Backup entire OS drive with tar
- snip - You should use fsarchiver for that purpose.. I thing using tar you might lose things.. or get an inconsistent or broken restored system, im not sure you can preserver all atributes , timestamps, symlinks, etc by using tar- fsarchiver is safer to use, you wont get any trouble when restoring...

Re: Screen flickering problem
Hi, Further to my last posting. Reply from Dell technical support to my phone call, saying About your monitor model U3219Q. It's not a power cord fault, it's the monitor itself.... Contacted the reseller again replying that if they can find the defect as claimed by me they will replace it with a new...

Re: Screen flickering problem
So you are saying this problem did not occur with the other display? Have you considered that maybe it's just a bad monitor? This could be discounted if you can get other operating systems to run on your machine without those issues. Hi, After reconnecting the PC to Dell 25" display, which has...

Re: run debian on usb or run in a VM?
I will never really like having linux in VM on windows. But it is not the only computer I use. I use pure linux on a hard disk most of the time. Due to simplicity I do not have double boot, I use a VMware player to run debian. Re: Searching for command line ScreenShot package
xwd is what you need, I use two scripts to run it with different options, one for whole screen and one for capturing the selected window, although I'm not sure if it works without X and if you are using Gnome I think you might be using wayland instead, still worth a try though. Hi Dai_trying, Lot o...
