Re: Nvidia driver - Debian way, custom (or not) kernel.
Thanks but what about a package for nvidia-kernel-legacy-96xx-2.6.32.2 which I think is the current kernel in squeeze. Wouldn't I need a package such as this if this is the kernel I will be using in squeeze? Will the nvidia-kernel-legacy-96xx source package make make the nvidia-kernel-legacy-96xx-2....

Hello I'm currently using ubuntu 10.04 but I don't like it because it is not stable on my computer. I would like to switch back to debian squeeze for it's stability but I can't install the non free driver for my nvidia card because the nvidia-kernel-legacy-96xx package is not in squeeze. I need this...

Re: create a debian live image
Hi, I'm confused. The contents of what file are you talking about? Are you talking about /root/LIve/chroot/bootstrap? I don't have this on my debian system. Thanks.

Re: create a debian live image
Oh ok thanks. I tried live-magic the gui tool for live-helper and didn't have this problem. However I would like to use the commandline becaue it has more options.

Re: create a debian live image
Hi, I'm trying to build a debian live cd image with the debian installer included but the process seems to hang at retrieving release. Anyone know why this is happening? I do lh config --debian-installer enabled cdrom -d squeeze -p gnome-core is this correct? I was able to make a live image with jus...

Re: Your thoughts on Squeeze?
Been using Debian Squeeze for about a week or two now and like it very much. I use gnome and it currently has some very visible and obvious bugs like random nautilus crashes when browsing through folders but it is to be expected for a release that has not yet been classified as being stable. Other t...

Re: Questions about Debian squeeze and sid
Hi thanks for the reply. I'm confused. Will I get the new versions of packages once they have been marked as safe for the testing branch via update manager? Thanks.

Questions about Debian squeeze and sid
Hi I am currently using Debian squeeze and have some questions about squeeze and sid. If there is a package/dependencies breakage in squeeze, it may take weeks or months for it to be fixed in squeeze? Is this correct? In sid, it only takes days for things to get fixed. Is this correct? What exactly ...

Re: Is this a bug in debian squeeze?
Hi thanks for the info. I will wait until nautilus gets into the testing branch from the unstable branch. It's not a big deal that it doesn't work as intended as I am using a yet to be released version of Debian. I am visually impaired and more important is that orca is quite functional which is cur...

Re: Debian testing
Hi, I'm using Debian squeeze and also experiencing the same nautilus bug but I will keep it because it is much faster than Ubuntu. I will be installing Debian squeeze on my playstation 3 as well. I have a visual impairment and orca in Debian squeeze works much better and is more responsive than in U...

I want folders to open up in a single window but when I go to change this behavior by going to edit properties menu in nautilus, it seems to crash and make my desktop icons...
