Re: What does << and >> mean? (package dependencies)

Hi, << means "strictly earlier" and >> means "strictly later". The relations allowed are <<, <=, =, >= and >> for strictly earlier, earlier or equal, exactly equal, later or equal and strictly later, respectively. The exception is the Provides field, for which only = is allowed. ...

Re: create email address

But do you know a good guide to install and configure postfix and dovecot on Debian 11 (apache2)? The linuxbabe guides which, although written for Ubuntu-20-04, work perfectly in Debian Bullseye: Part_1 Part_2 Part_3 Part_4 postfixadmin, if needed, is now in testing so it can be backported to stabl...

firefox-esr not supported for online meetings? I suppose it depends on what is used. It works fine for me with Jitsi Meet. Chromium is an alternative.

Re: [Solved] How to add Leipzig to scid-vs-pc/scidvspc-hkvc?

Sorry if I have to go back to this point again but now what you called 'the trick' didn't work for me, even when a new folder, “Chess”, has been created in / home / keos / after: $ mkdir Chess && cd Chess $ wget 'https://sourceforge.net/projects/scidvspc/files/support%20files/chess%20pieces...

See https://wiki.debian.org/KVM
I'd just like to comment that I've also switched now that I use Bullseye and can thoroughly recommend it: Excellent.

Re: Discover says: "Cannot refresh cache whilst offline"

Hi Something to do with your Network Manager configuration maybe? What happens if you stop it? Does the "refresh cache notification whilst offline" notification persist? For example, on my Bullseye server the commands would be: # systemctl stop NetworkManager.service Then update and upgrad...

Re: [Solved] How to get Playonlinux/Debian11

Use cat to show what's in a file:
# cat /etc/apt/sources.list
Then Edit --> "SelectAll" -->Copy and paste.
No need to add contrib and non-free to the deb-src lines because, since you have commented them out, might as well not exist; they won't be updated.

@kedaha I did't not see your post i already did what i did, means this line was omited: # apt-add-repository contrib && apt-add-repository non-free I will comeback tomorrow, i'm half sleep ... No, please don't add that line because it is a command to add contrib and non-free, but the correc...

Re: How to get Playonlinux/Debian11

I should stop posting when I am too tired to see difference from what I enter for manual and what I write down. My bad. Easily done. I run an instance of Bullseye in qemu and I always run the commands myself to see if they work before posting. No way would I install windows binaries in wine ...

Re: How to get Playonlinux/Debian11

Code: Select all

# apt install software-properties-common
# add-apt-repository contrib && add-apt-repository non-free
# apt update
If you want both contrib and non-free
To see the changes just do:

Code: Select all

# cat /etc/apt/sources.list

Re: How to get Playonlinux/Debian11

The command is not apt-add-repository contrib but add-apt-repository contrib
But first you have to run:

Code: Select all

# apt install software-properties-common
to enable it.

I don't use Windows but surely the downloaded image can be verified? Do a search for, for example: "Verify a Checksum On Windows."

Re: [Solved] How to add Leipzig to scid-vs-pc/Debian?

I said I was in a bit of a hurry in my last post but now I've had another look at the question of adding Leipzig to the scidvspc-hkvc from snap rather than the version resulting from using the third-party deb from the upstream site. In the upstream version, a hidden folder named .scidvspc (note the ...

Re: How to add Leipzig to scidvspc-hkvc?

Run updatedb again before locate.
In a screen shot you posted I see that you have put the file in a folder called "Leipzig" in your home folder so the copy command should be:

Code: Select all

cp /home/keos/Leipzig/Leipzig.tcl /home/keos/.scidvspc/pieces

Re: How to add Leipzig to scidvspc-hkvc?

It looks OK to me. Besides it is the latest version: Project Updated: June 10, 2021.
Now you can insert Leipzig piece style.
