Cannot install debian to rockpro64
Hello! I'm having a problem with installing debian onto emmc on my rockpro64 device. I can only get so far and the process fails. First of all I'm using the newer bookworm debian installer for the rockpro64. I can write the two images as stated in the "README.concatenateable_images" file s...

Raspberry pi debian images
Hello all :-) ! Was just wanting to ask one quick question here -- is there going to be an image file for the raspberry pi zero 2 w? I see images for all the other pis but not the zero 2 w. The image for the pi 3 dosen't quite work on the zero 2 w as it uses slightly different hardware than the pi 3...

USB Bluetooth not working correctly with bullseye
Hello all! Just posting here as I'm having an issue with bluetooth not working quite right in debian bullseye. First of all though here is the spec of the system I'm using; OS = Debian bullseye 64 bit Motherbard = Asus rog strix b450f gaming (this board is a very recent purchase made only in the las...

Re: Stuttery audio in buster/kde
Decided to give a behringer UCA202 usb sound card a go instead of on-board audio. Just trying it now but it looks like no problems with this external device as opposed to the onboard audio.

Re: Stuttery audio in buster/kde
Well I gave aplay -L a go and I can confirm the chipset is ALC892. It's a realtek chipset and I have the firmware-realtek package already insalled.
I did try the tsched=0 suggestion on that page but it did not work I still have the same problem.

Stuttery audio in buster/kde
Hello all! I'm having a bit of a problem when using debian buster and kde plasma and playing back audio. Sometimes whenever I play a video file (for example with VLC) or an audio file for a few seconds the audio will break up for several seconds before stabilising. Here is an example file to illustr...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Reinstalled, but still have the same problem. However I did notice 'something' possibly maybe going wrong during install somewhere around 5% on base install. But I was unable to see what it said (the installer carried on installing btw) it was quite literally a "blink-and-you'll-miss it" m...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Switched back to 'old' hard drive and gave modprobing sd_mod.ko a try but still nothing even after modprobing pata-sis x.x . Will wipe this install and re-install and see if that fixes anything although I don't remember the installer coming back with any missing files or errors during installation. ...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Ok, this odd! I did another debian install on a different hard drive - only this time the only difference was that I used 'expert mode' and did not install a PAE kernel. And the system seems to have booted ok from the hard drive. The kenel reported by uname -r is "4.9.0-7-686", and not &qu...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Random thought: With regards to the kernel that debian installed and the install cd the only difference is that the cd's kernel isn't pae, whereas the kernel debian installed is pae. Maybe my PC dosen't like this? (debian install cd == 4.9.0.7-686, installed kernel == 4.9.0.7-686-pae) . Maybe there'...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
That's really weird then as these files are what debian installed. The initramfs prompt I'm getting from there is what happens if I try to boot normally (directly from the hard drive, not the cd). Really confused as from within the initramfs (which in turn is running busybox) uname -r returns "...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Understood and I think I had the wrong module in any case, "all_generic_ide" - ! I rebooted with the debian installer cd and went into rescue mode and executed "lspci -k". That said that the module 'pata_sis' was being used. So I rebooted normally (and dropped again back into ini...

Re: Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Ok I gave that a go and updated the initramfs but it still didn't seem to want to work. /proc/modules while in the initramfs still just shows 4 modules listed and no sign of the module all_generic_ide . Not sure why it isn't working -- I wonder what the installer's kernel and initramfs do differentl...

Debian "forgets" ide controller after install
Hello all! I'm just trying to install a newer version of debian on an older machine here - and although the install appears to go ok after install I am unable to boot. I'm trying to install debian stretch (though just a command line), kernel 4.9.0-7-686. I can get partly into the system by using res...

Re: X Acceleration on Cubox-i4 pro
Thought I'd put an update here after trying all this again. I am not sure btw if the kernel source/includes are needed or not.
However I did find this patch which stops that fourcc error message. I tried using that patch and it managed to compile the driver.

Re: Debian installer on banana pi
I've not yet tried installing debian with the installer per se yet, but I did finally manage to get it to start. It turns out the installer dosen't output to the HDMI port but you need to use the serial port on the banana pi. And there's 3 pins on the machine to connect to - it needs a serial to USB...

Grub install failure with intel compute stick
Hello! First of all (and rather than type of lots of stuff which really isn't relevent) and although I wouldn't personally want/buy one of these devices myself I have recently just been given an unwanted device -- it's an intel compute stick STCK1A8LFC . That's one of the older devices with the awfu...

Debian on raspberry pi zero w
Hello all! Was wondering - how easy (or otherwise) is it to create some sort of debian installation to run on a raspberry pi zero w? From what I have read, the zero and zerow are both armel devices, just like the older raspberry pi devices. The newer pi 2 and 3 are both armhf. I understand that rasp...

It now seems to be working - but for how long I don't know. Don't think this is solved at all really btw. It's st...
