GRUB does not read, write, or have any use for partition boot flags. Neither does the BIOS, which knows nothing

In the Synaptic package manager, there's a very handy filter pane on the left side. Select the Origin button, and you get a list of all your configured repositories.
Clicking on one of them will give you a list of all packages from that repository, with the installation status marked.

You likely have to restart your user session for the new icon to show. Icon can be located anywhere, not necessarily in the directory where the Choose Icon dialog opens.

At the bottom of the left panel in Synaptic, try clicking on the "Origin" button, and then the list of source repositories should appear, in a format somewhat different than
