Re: Can't remove Adware from Firefox

and be sure to set the router to "disable access from the wan". Most routers have that setting. And disable wireless admin; admin from a wire only; only inside the lan. I actually had to back off my firmware in the Linksys E4200 to get the cloud admin features out of it. I wondered if the...

Personally, I'm really enjoying Slackware. I was able to get everything I needed from Slackbuilds; my needs are fairly simple.

Re: What should we do about systemd?

Haven't quite figured out yet exactly what I'll do, but to my mind, "Lennax" is really no different from Windows, much less any better. I really wish they'd created their own thing, their "CoreOS" if that's what they wanted. I wish they'd done it from the ground up and left Linu...

For me the hardest thing about leaving Debian is its ultra-convenience. With a few adjustments to my own attitude and knowledge-base, I find Slackware to be almost as e...

Thank you saulgoode, for your calm sanity, and for some of the most edifying posts I've read on this forum.
I hope you'll be wherever you’re happy and stress-free, doing what you want to do. You certainly deserve it.

Re: What should we do about systemd?

Food for thought: What is the median age of Debian developers? How has that statistic changed over the last 5 years? Could the recent turbulence in Debian's internal governance be a generational thing? Pushing 60 and I have a lot of thoughts that run in that direction these days. The world belongs ...

Re: What should we do about systemd?

Yes... No matter how I may personally feel, those folks who manage and maintain the project have a pretty rough road all the way around these days, and I can't help but feel for them all, and for the project as a whole.
