Re: can't open/modify files stored on MTP device (phone)
AFAIK Microsoft deliberately designed mtp to work like that. There can be only one connection at a time and you cannot open the files in place.. this is to prevent problems in case of accidental disconnection. So, for example in Windows, when you use the drive, the OS copies the entire content to a ...

Re: Arduino 1.8.16 Permission denied
If I remember correct, the shell script just makes a desktop icon.
Also, IIRC you cannot have both verison 1 and 2 installed at the same time.

Re: Arduino 1.8.16 Permission denied
Over the years there have been many issues with Arduino on Linux (mainly because people instsall it from the site and not a repo, or the repo versions are horribly out of date). These are minor issues but have had difference resolutions in different setups and distributions. I believe that sometimes ...

Re: Flicker-free boot with Plymouth and OEM logo using BGRT
Well, in my view Debian has adopted a surprising amount of "aesthetical" stuff in the last years to make the OS work well and easily for desktop use. And I see no reason something like this would not be adapted, but of course if it is, it will take some time and it probably needs to be upstreamed ...

Re: Flicker-free boot with Plymouth and OEM logo using BGRT
Yes, Fedora has had this for some years now, in addition to there not being these screen reinits/flickers, the UEFI can continue to show content (like vendor logos) when the operating system is loading (or alternatively plymouth can display its stuff). But as far as I know, it is quite complicated ...

Re: Configuring a remote workstation; Tips?
I would be really surprised to know that some university campus allows USB boot from computers. Most universities also have cloud computing workstations, so whatever workstation you would have at home would pale in comparison. Unless it is something really custom.
However, in my experience, most ...

Re: Uart Raspberry
That is not an official Debian image, but the guy that is making it says that it uses the config.txt file to talk to the firmware just as Raspbian does. So, if whatever you are doing does not work, but it should according to official Raspbian guides, there is a bug that you could try to report to him.

Re: What's wrong with my Raspberry Pi 2?
This is the wrong forum, the raspberry pi forum has 100 X the users of this forum and they all use raspberry pi and many use pihole. There is a reason ssh for root is typically not allowed (security). It is more secure to allow normal user to ssh in and the use sudo, for example. Perhaps you should ...

You had an argument with nearly everyone on this forum. Then, I remember that you had a bigger one with somebody and left saying that you will never come back, Tomazzi.

Re: BTRFS on Debian Stable, your experiences?
Here is the problem with arrogance: people that have nothing better to offer try to bring others down in order to feel better themselves.
"Everything is entirely wrong", "it is so totally flawed", "others are all morons", "Larabel is bribed by sponsors" and guess what? "People don't even understand ...

Re: BTRFS on Debian Stable, your experiences?
The main problem with the Phoronix file system benchmarks is the IOPS: the reported values are unrealistic even for SSD arrays.
There's only one explanation for this phenomenon: the benchmarks are performed in RAM (in the I/O caches) - i.e. the tests are too small to show real fs performance.

Re: BTRFS on Debian Stable, your experiences?

If you say that such benchmarks exist, please provide a link describing the results and what machine/setup they were ran on. Also clearly explain why this other result is more fair or better.
