Now that I think about it Biotube is probably right, some sort of 'desktop' package or maybe gnome-session requires a window manager since I think it was actually installing xfwm when I was removing gconf which probably was going to remove metacity. I just wish it would of told me what was requiring ...

Since playing with squeeze I have ran into this issue a couple times. I have just been letting it install whatever and then removing those also. Just doesn't make any sense.
As far as I know I did not have any meta packages installed either as I usually stay away from them.

playing with squeeze and noticed apt-get acts crazy...
removing A automatically causes apt-get to want to install B
when removing a bucnh of gnome stuff for example....

still seems to work though...
here is how I did it....
my usb device is /dev/sdb and has one partition designated as /dev/sdb1 so I will use those for the examples
I plug the device in and then I unmount it since it is automatically mounted
umount /dev/sdb1
dd my image to the drive
dd if ...

Thanks! I thought the fonts were a little fuzzy but not bad....
I predict two people will say the fonts were so fuzzy that it hurt their eyes and three will say how jagged and ugly the fonts are... :lol:

got to playing with mint and figured I would cleanse the taint and after that I figured wtf just roll it up and call it refracta BOOM!
I plan to have stable 6.0, old-stable 5.0, as well as testing/unstable/experimental mixed builds. Time to crank it up and have some fun.
