Re: Wayland thread
I like the improved security and speed wayland brings, I see don't think it is a 1:1 xorg replacement for me. It does handle my mouse gestures way better and I don't experience the horrible "dead touchpad" issue that comes with some ELANTECH touchpads. However things like not being able to...

Re: [NO SOLUTION] Want to remove "did you mean" clauses
Might be a little bit late but yes, it is not possible to remove those warnings as those are hardcoded onto gcc.

Made a small security script.
Hello fellow Debian users :D I decided to make a small security enhancing script for Debian installations on both servers and desktops. I don't know if this could be posted in any of the other forums since it is not directly related with Debian. But I thought it might be useful for newbie users who ...

Re: Tooltips are misplaced
I think that libreoffice tooltips are hardcoded and have little to no customization at all. You can still try to modify them in:
Tools→Options→LibreOffice→Advanced→Expert Configuration

Re: Firefox bullshit
Removing add-ons unquestioningly also creates security problems. (1) But this is not Debian's fault, there is nothing EXPLICITLY stated that removes user's add-ons, Debian devs never said/wrote any code that could be translated to "Hey, let's remove all user's add ons" and if we have to c...

Re: Debian 32&64 bit MATE: Midnight Commander Colors bug?
But why so many duplicates and both in your profile & bashrc ? As far as I know you need only one file (but you decide whether it should be system wide or per user). I know it's overkill XD but, I wasn't 100% sure about one, so I placed the 256 option everywhere, someone said here in my country...

Re: Debian 32&64 bit MATE: Midnight Commander Colors bug?
I placed the following on my profile & bashrc ~/.profile if [ -e /usr/share/terminfo/x/xterm-256color ]; then export TERM='xterm-256color' else export TERM='xterm-color' fi and at the beginning of ~/.bashrc TERM=xterm-256color Did not fix it but it's a workaround, maybe if the issue is solved/pa...

Re: After the fact stories
It's the same that I said before, there are a lot of people that hate systemd aaaaaaand there are a lot of people that like systemd too. But again, if you don't like systemd simply don't use it, if you don't like Debian with systemd there is Devuan, antiX, MXLinux and more, if you don't use Debian t...

Re: Mouse frozen and not working under Mate gui
I've never seen a WiFi mouse only bluetooth ones.
It could be helpful if you provided us with more information like the mouse details like vendor, model or anything related to it.

Re: Games for kids
Well I have a little brother, and he mostly plays with Debian Edu games, Tuxpaint, tuxtype, tuxmath, gcompris and other games like nibbles, supertuxkart & Postal 2 (jk, don't let your kids play that). I think you can find some libregames for kids on the lutris webpage and in playdeb, but debian ...

@stevepusser I also see a big fat README file in that directory (one thing a screenshot's good for). What's in there?
