Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

Eventually the system is OK after removing teamviewer. It seems that there is a problem in using teamviewer with VB where both virtual machine would collide.

Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

Now I have reinstalled OS with the same version of Debian 10. And I have installed VB, mendeley, zoom, teamviewer, and nabi and ibus for Korean. The system is now stable though I am afraid that how long this system would be stable. I will comment again when the system go bad. Thank you for all the ...

Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

Log suggests that there’s something wrong with gdm; you can try to install a different session manager (for example lightdm) and use it instead of gdm. Now I have reinstalled OS with the same version of Debian 10. And I have installed VB, mendeley, zoom, teamviewer, and nabi and ibus for Korean. Th...

Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

Hi, guys Thank you for your concerns and comments. But eventually someone solved the problem. Now teamveiwer host is removed and the system is stable now. Now One day has past and the system still responds quickly to the mouse. He said teamviewer uses virtual env and it collides with VM env, such as...

Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

I had that problem with 4Gb, but its almost all gone at 8Gb memory. What does seem to help is installing the autonice daemon, and changing priorities in the System Monitor. Might want to try a different VM software, as they can definitely gobble up resources. I am assuming cache = swap. If no swap ...

Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

I might try another VM later. What do you mean ? Why are you talking about a VM (Virtual Machine) ? Is the slow down detected in the VM (guest) and not in the server (host) ? [/quote] I feel that it is the problem of VM player. Though it is not long time before I start virtual machine after login, ...

Re: system gradually slows down and eventually stops

with your own word: Sometimes the system stops, not responding for the mouse and keyboard. Gradually the system slows down and stops, in my opinion. it's almost sounds like swap death.. But that often happens on low end computers or if you using very memoryhungry programs.. I have 8GB ram on...

Re: How can I install Nvidia, purge and reinstall?

It looks there is no way to fix the above problem. I installed everything again, and it works at this time. I just installed Debian, fixed up sources.list and followed the above youtube and debian wiki in combined method. At first, I installed several package such as vlc, smplayer, libavcodec-extra ...

Re: can't login through x in debian 8.5

Hi dibi and Garry, Thanks for your comments. At last I found the mistake. After I installed debian 8.5 again, it worked normally. I can login to x-window. When I copy the previous home directory to new home directory, the same problem happens. It came from the two initial files of .profile and .bash...

Re: can't login through x in debian 8.5

superuser means root user here. I am sorry if this is not common terminology. someone means someone around me. Why do I say nvidia is working? The login mode was as normal as it works properly. The screen is clear with moderate resolution. Before I install nvidia, the screen was very dirty with so m...
