I don't want a distro where a bugs become features.
After ten years of Debian I can say:

Re: Bug. Home folder permissions.

This critical bug was upstreamed to Debian by Ubuntu years ago. Now Ubuntu solved this critical bug, Debian still have it.
A multi-user system shouldn't have this bug, the privacy is important.

Bug. Home folder permissions.

Please, can a user send this bug to Debian (I don't want my personal email to appear): The home folder permissions are 0755 (drwxr-xr-x) instead of 0750 (or 0700), also for newly created users. This means all users can read the documents of all other users without knowing their password, just changi...

Compiz is in the official repo. I'd prefere other solutions.

Marco wm and its zoom effect. Any alternative?

I like the ability of Marco (Xfce wm) to expand the dimension of the desktop while it is running in composite mode. I'd like to know if there is a way to get the same effect using another window manager. I know Compiz did it years ago, but I'd prefere something lite.
Thanks.

Yes, I agree. I've been using the same (downloaded) version of Firefox Quantum and I'm very happy with it. I desired such a progress for long.

Re: 10 years ago we did the same with 10x less RAM

Ten (a little more) years ago? It still was Gnome 2 and Kde 3 era. It was difficult for me choose one of them, they were good DM at that time. It was possible to use them with 1G of ram, because the browser didn't need much memory to work. I remember I used Opera browser, it was lite and fast.

Monitor temp, an applet for changing the light of display.

Sometimes I also surf at night and sometimes I find the monitor is too bright. So I wrote this program that let me choose two different settings of display colours and brightness. The values can be chandes by the user in the program very easily. It requires python3, Gtk3 and xrandr. I've uploaded th...

Re: Folder viewer/manager (WIP).

Finally, I've completed the rewriting of the program (the browsing part, not yet everything). I've integrated all of the features I hoped to, leaving it fast and lite: the mouse menus (all traditional operations) and actions, drag and drop, etc. And: fully customizable actions in the menus (also at ...

Re: A program that monitorize the system. (For fun)

GitLab is not free, GitHub is. gitlab (both the software and the site) is just as free as github.com. they just display paid options more openly than github. Do you know some other free alternatives? do you want me to re-iterate every alternative listed in that long thread i linked? sure, no proble...

Re: Folder viewer/manager (WIP).

The work is still in progress:
- added drag and drop support;
- added complete popup menus;
- added support for custom scripts.

Now I've stopped develop the program and started its revision, in other words, rewriting. :cry:
