Re: need for help for getting high quality video from my camera, on files kdenlive can process

guvcview I can run webcamoid (latest version) but I have that lagging issue, it takes more resource and I don't see such a "raw format" option... I'm not familiar with these programs and wonder if the webcam has a raw front end enumerated in /dev/ and if so I believe mpv could direct view...

Re: (Solved) Auto startx as User Not working, has to be manually run in TTY

The non-root user has to be added to the tty group. (It is said that it is also necessary to add to the video group, Interesting... many paths, too many. I leave tty1 empty and use the others for users. tty2 is a single group user, not even sudo. Some tty's need a password, some don't. Group alignm...

Re: polkits for window managers

Really the password dialog is a waste anyway. The user invoking the action should be enough. Since everything can have a pkla rule it works, or for someone without rights there's no response. So other than leaning over someone to type in a password, what's the use case?

You'll have to try, should work.
Just as listed above...

Code: Select all

$ cvt 1280 960 60
and you'll get the modeline
...so

Code: Select all

$ xrandr --newmode "whatever..." stuff more more what all for -hsync +vsync
then it should show as an option, pick it.

I recently updated from Debian 10 I have seen this on a a few upgrade instances... Open up the 'Panel Preferences' and on the first tab is 'Measurements' ...cycle the 'Row Size (Pixels)' up, then down to your setting. It should correct during this edit, or you may need to save it larger, then redo ...

Re: Creating a Master Installation Disk for Replication to Multiple systems

An easy way is to create your image as a vm. If it is suitable to simply install a disk and fire it up, that can be done. Or boot a live usb and image to the internal drive, kinda slow, and reboot. Using qemu utilities or guestfs all editing is done on the master machine from a golden image, during ...

If it were only that simple! That section of an install does need to be more clear. I wouldn't support a bias to sudo. Polkit could be used to nearly the same extent. If so, setting up authority for at least one enabled user deserves a setup section in the installer for it to avoid chicken eggs. The...
