Re: Freezing SteamUI Debian 9 Stretch
either or bbswitch or vga_switcheroo they function similarly. using the dGPU (nVidia gpu) for the heavy graphics lifting than sending the dGPU rendering pipelines to the IDG (intel gpu). Both were developed initially for laptops to conserve battery power by powering down the dGPU when the battery s...

Re: Freezing SteamUI Debian 9 Stretch
You mentioned that you have a bumblebee setup? What are the graphics chips being used? Does Steam still freeze when you run it with/without optirun? 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM107M [GeForce GTX 960M] optirun glxgears -info GL_RENDERER = GeForce GTX 960M/PCIe/SSE2 GL_VERSION = 4.6.0 NVIDIA ...

Re: Freezing SteamUI Debian 9 Stretch
When installing steam, did you read the wiki article? https://wiki.debian.org/Steam Note that you must enable multilib repo to install 32-bit depends. There are also troubleshooting examples there. Trying other versions of Steam, like oldstable, is wrong and you should avoid it. steam is just a wra...

Re: Freezing SteamUI Debian 9 Stretch
You really need a good stable os to run anything. I only use debian stable, nothing added, and I don't even use the non-free repo or I would try to help more. My advice would be your deck it's a wreck if you're installing a bunch of crap from different versions/distros. Get the underlying os stable...

Re: Freezing SteamUI Debian 9 Stretch
You should probably post ver of steam and debian you are using. apt policy steam Udated, Debian version 9 (Stretch) Steam version 1.0.0.59 That's odd, I didn't find that ver in the repo, how you installed it? If it's made for a later ver or another distro, that would be a clue why it doesn't work o...

nvidia-xrun for Debian?
I tried nvidia-xrun on Arch with succesfull high fps gaming and curious about is there any nvidia-xrun for debian. Searched little bit and some people opened topics as "Debian nvidia-xrun issue" or something like that but there is no article about installation of nvidia-xrun on Debian. Is ...

Re: Debian8 - Bumblebee - Vulkan Not Working on both GPU
There is an Off Topic section here where someone may be willing to help blunder through Deepin issues. Bumblebee is a kludgy way to get Optimus dual graphics laptops working. There seems to be a specific way to do it but many ways to fail, and documentation is scarce. I would never buy a laptop wit...

Re: Debian8 - Bumblebee - Vulkan Not Working on both GPU
Ok, i get it. I know what you are talking about. I also asked at Deepin Forum. But as i said, i want to take advice from this forum too. I've faced so many mistakes so far but none of them were specially about to DeepinOS. Solutions were the same as debian solutions. So I'm open to proposals for so...

Re: Debian8 - Bumblebee - Vulkan Not Working on both GPU
Deepin is also based Debian 8 Jessie, what is wrong with that? And the issue, as i know, not specifically about Deepin. Still you dont want to help? There is nothing wrong you are using Debian based distro. There are about 130 of them. We don't know what they have changed so, that they are new dist...

Re: Debian8 - Bumblebee - Vulkan Not Working on both GPU
Deepin is also based Debian 8 Jessie, what is wrong with that? Deepin is not Debian. It would be much easier for you to ask in Deepin forum . Still you dont want to help? If I could, I would advise, but we still do not know how Deepin's developers pondered the Debian base ... I've faced so many mis...

I really want that, but Deepin is for me. Blur effects and user-friendly interface best in others.Wheelerof4te wrote:I would advise installing the latest Debian Stable release. Jessie-based DeepinOS is most likely on LTS life-support.
