Re: additional IP address after upgrade?

Additional ip shouldn't matter, what matters is what are you using as your dns ip? What is in your /etc/reoslv.conf? Why do you think dhcp is involved? And lastly what is the status of NetworkManager.service?

Re: Commands not working.

try fasting on moonless Sunday nights for a few moons to fix it.

Alternatively, make an effort to learn what PATH is in linux.

I donate blood to help vampires(sometimes on moonless nights), don't judge me :)

Re: when x does not boot

in /etc/grub/default on the line which says 'GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT'
Initially on the grub menu you can press e and then add vga=ask then ctrl+x to boot to get a list of supported resolutions.
If you are happy you can make the changes permanent by editing /etc/grub/default.

Re: Encrypted boot disk

You can add the root unlock luks key in initramfs by specifying its location in /etc/cryptsetup-initramfs/conf-hook AND then regenerate initramfs. As far as /boot is concerned I do not suppose that is encrypted on instances provided in public cloud. I did not find 'insmod cryptodisk' in grub.cfg on ...

You can add vga=ask as a kernel parameter in your grub file. Then on the next boot select one of the supported resolutions.

Re: Debian Buster - System Monitor Works Only On Root User

Thanks for checking. Well bravo KDE I guess for allowing root to have easy access to gui apps. My understanding is that its generally not advisable for root to access to X.

@OP you my want to check xsession errors as advised by hoas.

Re: Debian Buster - System Monitor Works Only On Root User

When i switch to root user from terminal and launch the "sudo ksysguard" command it is displaying cpu and other history information graph. root by default can not open graphical applications unless you have taken special pains to allow it. I have checked in normal netinst Debian and I get...

Re: possible permissions issue with netinstall + Fluxbox set

seems like you need the below: * add a polkit agent to your autostart if you haven't already * add the relevant policies to /usr/share/polkit-1/actions for the corresponding apps which you need to open as root * start openbox with dbus-launch --exit-with-session openbox and then see if your pcmanfm ...

Re: SELinux sandbox on Debian.

I installed "policycoreutils-sandbox" package too, but problem exist. How can I solve it? I do not suppose that policy is for the sandbox package you have installed. You can inspect the current policies here /sys/fs/selinux/policy. I reckon you need to create a custom policy for your sand...
