I have been a long time Debian user and also do some music recording with Konfyt, RoseGarden, Qsynth, Hydrogen, Shotcut etc., Which kernel is best for this purpose? I use the default kernel and notice occasional stutter, jumps, skips while playing fast notes on MIDI devices and reproducing the sound...

just wanted to update here that firefox (from mozilla's apt repo) remembers user logins through updates. i've been using it as my main browser.

Everytime firefox gets an update in debian (bookworm) it forgets my google user logins. I have to go through the two step google login verification for it to remember my user account again.

anyone else face this issue? is there a fix for this?

yes would be a lot easier to have latest version of lxqt in the repo. but these don't seem to be maintained.

I have installed debian 5.4 on an old 32 bit pc. The network adapter does not work (Realtek) I assume because the drivers are missing in the installation package. I downloaded the drivers from the internet ( https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/firmware-realtek ) but I don't know where to save them...

It looks like they have left out the lxqt third party apps (https://github.com/lxqt/lxqt/wiki/Third-party-apps). I don't see them in this git repo.

It looks like the lxqt packages are bit outdated in debian repo (testing and unstable). lxqt released 1.0 sometime ago and are planning 1.1 release in april 2022. As you suggested, I installed latest kernel (2.6.28) from unstable repo. Let me see how X behaves with the new driver and get back to you in a day or two.

You have a video driver problem, not one with X. Why is vgahd loading? Have you installed the latest Intel driver? Is your hardware supported by it? Let's see xorg.conf. this problem has nearly made debian on my system totally unusable (though I like debian very much). I have to move to some other distro until this is fixed.
