Re: Run systemctl on Debian 11 Docker gets "Failed to connect to bus"

Hello, In the previous message, it appears that you are installing systemd in a debian installation. This is quite unusual, because systemd is the default init system and it's a important installation requirement: systemd is usually installed by default in a standard installation (even if different...

Run systemctl on Debian 11 Docker gets "Failed to connect to bus"

I just built an image from Dockerhub and installed systemd: FROM debian:bullseye ENV ANSIBLE_USER=ansible SUDO_GROUP=sudo DEPLOY_GROUP=deployer RUN apt-get install -y --no-install-recommends sudo systemd systemd-sysv # Add non-privileged user RUN set -xe \ && groupadd -r ${ANSIBLE_USER} \ &a...

Re: VirtualBox 6.1.18 on Bullseye?

In my eyes this is a political thing Well I suppose there is a "political" element because VirtualBox relies on non-free blobs, which should in itself be a warning sign for Debian users, but the linked bug report does clearly demonstrate how disinterested Oracle are in respect of security...

Re: Bullseye RC2 couldn't make international keyboard work

This is very sad I got no answer. Official documentation is outdated and have the obscure comment There is much on this page that is out of date for Stretch - needs a total rewrite by someone that knows more than I do. The names for the international keyboard layouts changed between jessie and stret...

Bullseye RC2 couldn't make international keyboard work

When I installed Debian 11 RC2 (with Gnome) I should UK since it is my region, then I don't gave me an option to US-International key board, so I proceeded with standard GB keyboard. I read and tried practically everything from https://wiki.debian.org/Keyboard. 1. I tried first editing myself /etc/d...

Debian 11 non-free missing firmware on Radeon install

Hi, I installed Debian 11 RC 1 and followed the steps here to install AMD/Radeon Graphics. After running: apt-get install firmware-amd-graphics libgl1-mesa-dri libglx-mesa0 mesa-vulkan-drivers xserver-xorg-video-all I got the following output: Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree.....

Re: Apt does not work after successful installation of Debia

Looks like a bug in the installation of RC1. I edited the file /etc/apt/sources.list and there was this line doubled, and just one of them already commented: # deb cdrom:[Debian GNU/Linux bullseye-DI-rc1 _Bullseye_ - Official Snapshot amd64 DVD Binary-1 20210415-20:26]/ bullseye contrib main deb cdr...

Apt does not work after successful installation of Debian 11

I freshly installed Debian 11 from image debian-bullseye-DI-rc1-amd64-DVD-1. After I login, open a terminal and `sudo apt update` I get the following errors: ~$ sudo apt update Ign:1 cdrom://[Debian GNU/Linux bullseye-DI-rc1 _Bullseye_ - Official Snapshot amd64 DVD Binary-1 20210415-20:26] bullseye ...

Re: Bullseye installation does not work with Realtek RTL8125

I could make it work with firmware-iwlwifi from experimental repository (version 20210322-1~exp1), I confirm current version does not work with WPA2 on my adapter.

Re: Bullseye installation does not work with Realtek RTL8125

If this missing package is not the problem, I still have another problem. Since my Debian can't exchange keys with my WiFi network.

I am also not sure how can I check that on installation wizard.

Re: Bullseye installation does not work with Realtek RTL8125

Looking in bug reports it seems that it is kernel bug. https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=969264 https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=966218 https://bkhome.org/news/202007/the-mysterious-missing-iwl-debug-yoyobin-firmware.html These bugs are mainly related to kernel 5.8 ...

Bullseye installation does not work with Realtek RTL8125B

I've been trying to install new RC of Bullseye (both standard and non-free). I see that RTL8125B is included on non-free package firmware-realtek , so on normal Debian installation I don't get it even detected. On the other hand, I tried DebianEdu 11 (that comes with firmware-realtek), and on "...
