Re: Firefox performance
Well, you took it upon yourself to cut most of output of "inxi -Fxz", including output that would show if your graphics are performing as well as they could. Intel GPUs that are sixth generation and above require non-free firmware for best graphics and sound output, and Debian doesn't pus...

Re: Firefox performance
Probably something to do with graphics, maybe software rendering. You need to show more details of your system, "i5" is meaningless as Intel have used that term for nearly 10 years for low-spec and high mid-spec processors. I have an i5-6500 and have no issues with Firefox seeming slow or...

Firefox performance
Hello guys! The performance of this browser, both version 78 (native to this Debian) and version 89 (the one I currently use) are showing a lower performance than Chrome 91. For example, even when scrolling a page on a website, you notice a certain " choke" or "delay" (This is mo...

Re: What are the risks of installing the latest version of F
Well, I preferred to go back to using the 78 version of the Debian archive as I saw performance in general is a little better, at least on my acer i5 4gb ssd notebook. Guys, as the speed of interaction here with you guys is much higher than in the other topics I opened, I want one of you to help wit...

Insert an image in the messages in this forum
Hi guys! I'm not able to insert an image, either from a saved file, or for example a screenshot saved in the clipboard. I saw that the message header has an "Img" button, but I don't know how to use it.

Re: What are the risks of installing the latest version of F
Just my two cents worth. I have almost always found that the Firefox-ESR releases found in Debian repos to be just as good as the regular Firefox releases. The version numbers don't match but as best as I can tell, by looking at the Mozilla web page, Firefox 89 and Firefox-ESR 78.11 are virtually i...

Re: What are the risks of installing the latest version of F
What if I want to install this version (89) instead of leaving it as a binary executable? Then look for a .deb. MX Linux uses Firefox and has 89. You can probably find it in their repository. While it is possible to install from a tar file I prefer debs because they are easier to remove after I'm d...

Re: What are the risks of installing the latest version of F
natan2021, if past experience is telling, Debian developers are working on updating Firefox-esr. Your question should become moot soon. The simple answer is that the risks are most likely minimal. In the past I downloaded a FF tar.bz2, untared it and ran it in my ~/user space without actually insta...

Re: What are the risks of installing the latest version of F
You didn't state what version your using. Yes, FF is a bit slower than Chrome, but for me its more stable. I'm using FF version 89, and its much faster than previous versions. I guess its how you use your browser that makes a difference. A second or two slower than Chrome doesn't make any differenc...

Re: Launching Applications on Login
I don't know how Mate does it, in KDE one can right-click in the menu and choose "Edit Application" and the command will be shown in the subsequent box. For most DEs, applications will appear in /usr/share/applications as a .desktop file. Open that with a text editor and the command will ...

What are the risks of installing the latest version of FF?
Hi guys! I know there are topics here dealing with this subject, but I couldn't identify my question raised in the subject, referring to Firefox. I'm actually wondering why I'm thinking about upgrading its version as its performance is lower compared to chrome. I thought it might be Compiz, because ...

Re: Login automático e execução de aplicativo
Autologin is probably the same as in ubuntu mate: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1202230/auto-login-enable-on-turn-on-system For flatpak I have no idea, never use them and don't plan to ever use them. I recall seeing something on the internet somewhere about your question. I tried to activate auto...
