Re: Display manager "does not recognize" user name.
I entered the system through the 'recovery mode' and went straight to # nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf and do as you indicated ... now everything is fine, my user name is already ready, the problem is that in their post the user wants to log in without type ... (nothing to do with my case) an...

[Solved] Display manager "does not recognize" user name.
Hello, How can I change the default display manager in Debian? -- It "does not recognize" the user and in the lightDM Gtk+ configuration there is no way to include it. Which one do you recommend, and how it will be changed? "does not recognize" *I have to type the name every time...

Re: Problem starting the system, grub
Starting plymouth-reboot.service should show plymouth reboot screen. No idea about which is this 'plymouth screen'... Is it message shown during boot or before boot (in reboot, before computer restart)? I'm not sure if I understand the question, normally when we turn on the computer, before opening...

Problem starting the system, grub
Hello, I'm having problems with Grub, I have several systems installed, sometimes it doesn't start, I have to restart with the button, the black screen appears, other times it takes a while to start, today it took a long time, I had time to copy quickly by hand, something like that as: start plymoot...

I'm sure there must be some way to get it, maybe someone can come by later and point it out, thanks.

Re: Does Debian have any GUI-installer?, Live-USB
@arzgi
I also looked in the applications menu, I can't find anything related to an installer.
Thanks
... but I try to see where it is and I can't find it anywhere; that's why I thought that maybe with some command I could be able to bring it ...Live images as well have a option to install

Re: Problems instaling Systemback, 'LANG=C'.
@ Aki, It doesn't seem to be an issue with Systemback itself but with something else in Debian. If I remember correctly, this package is for a program that is not part of the Debian repositories. Nor can I find it among the programs currently requested for packaging in Debian. I installed it on anot...

Re: VirtualBox vs 'another user account'.
Could you please briefly elaborate a little more on the latter, what could not be done/examples...?... a live system? If the latter, it's useful for some things, not so much for others.
Thanks.

Re: VirtualBox vs 'another user account'.
The matter via 'qemu/kvm/libvirt' is still too complicated for my current level.
I have a bootable debian-12 system with all the configurations, etc included in it, on a USB that I got with Systemback, I ask, wouldn't I do the same, wouldn't it be equally valid to test any app there?.

Re: VirtualBox vs 'another user account'.
For testing on real hardware the new user would be best. With Virtual Machine your not really testing the software against a real world scenario. That is what some one else in another foro told me in the past, but ... An experimental application installed system wide breaks for all users. I don' kn...

Re: VirtualBox vs 'another user account'.
I am not testing anything at all at the moment, I just want to know, in case I want to do some installation in the future (like the one I did for Syatemback ...). Which of the two ways is the best and why?. Thanks.

Re: VirtualBox vs 'another user account'.
What is more practical, a virtual machine or creating 'another user', to test applications? The virtual machine sometimes does not 'detects' any problem while testing an app but if you create another user in your system ;you are using the system in a real/actual way -- and if the 'other user' breaks...

VirtualBox vs 'another user account'.
Hello, I have already created the system in a bootable USB; I could also use it to test applications as well as if I install virtualbox or some other virtual machine (which by the way I always find complicated to use). I have also seen that sometimes some have had no problems in 'the virtual ...' bu...

Re: Terminal translation problem?
If I understand you indicate that a package obtained via 'github.com' could corrupt Debian, isn't it?, and that maybe that could be the cause of why the terminal behaves erratically?. Anyway it was the last app I was interested in having, since copying the whole system with 'dd' to a USB took me 6 h...

[Solved] Problems instaling Systemback.
My system is installed in Spanish. When going to the terminal 'without using LANG=C' it was never able to install this application, systemback, the steps: $ git clone https://github.com/fconidi/systemback-install_pack-1.9.4.git $ cd systemback-install_pack-1.9.4/ $ chmod +x install.sh $ sudo ./insta...
