Re: on lenovo debian,1 pixel vertical white line at grub unlock disk screen.

I can not help with NVME as I have a MBR SSD. WooHOO a screenshot....thanks for that I realize you now have a screenshot of a virtual machine, host arch based. Does this pixel thingee occur on real hardware? I hoped you might understand that booting a debian live product boots an unencrypted OS so i...

Re: Debian Bullseye HDMI sound issues

Gridsah I am aware another poster has a similar issue on this thread but they need BT. I have a suggestion for you assuming you are using vlc. Your alsa output shows you have index=0 card already set as hdmi, index=1 is analog, which is normal. Why not try vlc playing thru hdmi but using alsa and n...

OOPS a separate post, as I failed to read OP correctly. Apparently as I get older, that might be a new habit :D I have editted out some stuff while I prepare more info. Until you reply....I am likely to update this post. Note, that when i boot live usb, i do not have the graphical glitch. Then we ca...

Re: on lenovo debian,1 pixel vertical white line at grub unlock disk screen.

hi Before we get to your main issue, I checked for people who allegedly had the same model as you. Searched using product=81Y6 gives mixed results. I got no specific hits using 15IMH05H but did not spend hours looking.....but you could have a go yourself. so we get https://linux-hardware.org/index.p...

Re: on lenovo debian,1 pixel vertical white line at grub unlock disk screen.

Hi Until you get a better reply.....I wonder if it is because your PC has some kind of strange resolution? For your booted up debian can you post your results to this command by clicking select all....... and pasting the results into a terminal you have on your system. Then copy and paste those resu...

Re: LXDE: change color of volume icon on panel

I have already mentioned there is the alsa applet that has white icon. But maybe you are using pulseaudio? it has pasystray but when I installed this....its not a black icon so you could try it. You could ask at this forum but I noticed a similar question but no reply https://forum.lxde.org/viewtopi...

Re: No sound devices available

I am none the wiser if you tried the edits of boot menu stage to try various sound modules setups. sunrat I will repeat and make it blinking obvious.....a newer kernel may have the sound module the Original poster may need. OP can then recompile the kernel once he knows that he has sound.......so he...

Re: No sound devices available

ahh I am not sure if you want to install non-free firmware. You may already have them? If you do apt search firmware I can see potential fw to try in no particular order firmware-intel-sound, firmware-linux, firmware-linux-free, firmware-linux-nonfree, firmware-misc-nonfree, firmware-sof-signed inte...

Re: No sound devices available

Has multiple edits Yikes. I have editted earlier reply after seeing you already had hdajacksensetest. I failed to check the repo properly. My mistake. tutorial deleted. umm the fact that you can not see any pins.....means we can eliminate that issue. lets concentrate on the pci id that we now know y...

Re: LXDE: change color of volume icon on panel

Can you name your icon too. You may be able to find a non-black icon that could replace current one. is it just an icon or a panel applet? A panel applet can be interacted with, to increase or mute the sound. edit You might like to install using root powers volumeicon-alsa it offers both wihite and ...

Re: No sound devices available

I forgot to mention hdajackrestask. But now that I am looking at it, for reasons I can not explain, they have not included the exe called hdajacksensetest. and this command is very useful in providing before and after restasking....in a easy to read format. eg root@box:/home/greg# hdajacksensetest P...

Re: Issue finding pgp signing key for Debian 11

My reply was poorly worded. I assumed that OP was still on W10 and I am not sure how a W10 user uses gpg.
So I offered an easier method IMHO.

my 2 cents worth

Re: Surround Sound over Optical (S/PIDF)

no I do not. If your issue is something that can be resolved, whether by me or someone else, we need internet search engines with people with the same hardware or same situation see what was tried, what failed and maybe what succeeded. So as you are not the original poster, it is courteous that if y...

Re: Issue finding pgp signing key for Debian 11

Hi Let me offer a simple way (hopefully) first go back to the original download site if you can remember it. I do not know which one you used so give a mirror australian site as an example http://debian.mirror.digitalpacific.com.au/debian-cd/11.0.0/amd64/iso-cd/ Look at the files at your original do...

Re: LXDE: change color of volume icon on panel

there are 2 ways to change. 1 Choose a different icon theme. I run icewm and use lxappearance try installing as root then running as a local user lxappearance On my system....icon theme HighContrast displays a dark or black icon 2 or change other aspects of lxpanel as mentioned here https://wiki.lxd...
