Dear canci, being able to do some copy/ pasting doesn't mean you've reached a certain knowledge. :(

Re: Where is the main server located?

Are there any limits? Having a server 100km away but 'slow' at the moment will shift you to a server on the other end of the world?

bash: rename: command not found

This neat cli can cut unwanted txt from file names. Like:

Code: Select all

rename 's/the very best of//' *
Works a treat in Mint.
But on Debian it doesn't. :(

Code: Select all

bash: rename: command not found
How get it working?

Re: Where is the main server located?

OK and its the user who tells the location? Or does the system finds out itself, no matter what location you come up with?

Re: How get firewall up and running in Live boot, before going online?

Searched for UFW.DEB
That turned out to be ufw_0.36.1-4_all.deb
In live-boot copied it from a stick to the desktop

Code: Select all

cd /home/user/Desktop/
sudo dpkg -i ufw_0.36.1-4_all.deb
sudo apt install ufw
sudo ufw enable
sudo ufw status
Done :)

Re: Does 11.2 need the swap partition

ON a mint system we've been checking the swap file on a regular basis via system monitor. It hardly ever was used in our situation. So it is pretty useless and waste of didk space.

Re: Does 11.2 need the swap partition

You won't be able to hibernate,
O... have to think about it again...

Why just not create a swap partition during installation ?
There is no standard possibility for that. Have no clue how to set up partitions myself. Like 500mb for grub? Isn't it more common to use just 30mb?

Hi there, i dont understand the misunderstanding. I only want to change the standard grey green color of the folder icon into yellow. Is that so difficult to do?

Re: How to change the color of the folders

GPWR i guess there is something there. But what an overkill. And i don't like to install any icons that could have whatever bad code in it. Doesn't feel safe.
I am looking for a simple change of folder colors in 1 other color. One would expect that to find just within the system...
