I'm running Debian testing on an HP Envy x360 15-fh0xxx laptop with an amd gpu and a Realtek RTL8852CE wireless adapter. Everything worked from the first install except the sound. The audio chip is not fully supported by the kernel.

Apt listed several old kernels that could be removed with apt autoremove.

I removed the evolution folders in .cache .config and .local Than did apt purge evolution and evolution-data-server. Then did apt install evolution and typed evolution in the cli. It remembered the accounts and address book, and it's still read only. I'm not using a contacts book so there's nothing ...

When I set up evolution I let it do all of the configuring. Supposedly the data is in .config/share/evolution but I'll be damned if I can find the address book file. I have scrounged up an SQLite GUI app to change it from read only if I could just find it.

I use Gnome, but it takes a little customization to be useable. Gnome-shell-extensions application menu and dash-to-dock.

If you do a dist-upgrade it will tell you what it's going to do and you can always say no if it's going to remove packages.

Greetings, I would recommend Ubuntu to a total newb, they have the desktop tweaked to be useful to a total newb. No, it's not confirmed. When i clicked to open firefox it killed Wayland, and then only booted to a command prompt. I submitted a bug against vmlinuz-6.6.9-amd64, and fell back to 6.5.0-5-amd64.

My hard drive got corrupted running kernel vmlinuz-6.6.9-amd64. It ran for weeks before the event that cratered my hard drive. i would recommend you run the previous version just to be safe.
