Re: Searching for music administration

Quod Libet is an excellent alternative. It's a player, tag editor, and music manager suitable for huge collections. It can also calculate ReplayGain tags, and plugins are available for CDDB and MusicBrainz. It's available in Debian repos, package is called quodlibet . Yeah for the last year or more...

Re: Searching for music administration

If going to implement replaygain tags a note of caution Althou Easytag does a good job makes easy to do all the edit of tags, I do not use Easytag because it wipes out the replaygain tags I had whenever updating tags, this does depend on the version (some say) found the older versions do. https://gi...

Re: [Software] Open Dolphin as root doesn't work in Debian 12 KDE

Many installs back I did use the Dolphin as root GUI only twice each time when going back to normal use the panels and screensize would be completely skewed had no other option than to Timeshift back one snapshot since then always use the terminal is much safer and easier. Rebooting didn't help at a...

Re: [Software] Wanting to install package from stable being on oldstable

Hello. Unfortunately, installing this way won't work for you. I would suggest another way. If you want to try the latest version of Dolphin, install Dolphin using flatpak. Here link . I doubt flatpak would be a good option. Dolphin is deeply integrated in the KDE frameworks so would not be anything...

CwF seems to have covered the a couple of extras I was going to post, cool. A considered to be small is plenty big enough as CwF wrote. Did you know that Backintime and Timeshift can be both run on a schedule, on another (small/cheep) ExtHD. as I do so no need for human intervention ? Want to know m...

Re: Debian 8 to Debian 12 upgrade - involves BRLTTY (yikes)

I would lean towards dilberts_left_nut post on doing a fresh install, would be quicker and cleaner on the system, one other thing is that until you get the machine upto date on Debian 12 you'd be in nowhere land not Linuxland if something should go plopity blah blah plop could even happen from upgra...

What we need is a world-wide Carrington event that destroys all electronics and forces humanity to think for themselves. Humans got along just fine fo...

I don't think KDE has a unified dictionary of ignored words, but I may be wrong.
If remembering correctly I think it (used to) piggyback off Dolphin, someone with more up to date info needed if KDE still does ? .
